I very happy with the signings that Stoke have made in the window (disappointed about Jarvis but you can't win them all) Charlie Adam ticks every box I've been screaming for for 2 years and if Nzonzi is a fit Palacious then that too will be a great addition. A lack of a goal scorer is a minor concern but maybe Adam's distribution will lead to more chances for the chance starved forwards.
That said, what I would like to know was the lack of interest in the practically signed Goran Popov and the work permit issue. Now Stoke continuously gets reminded about the balls up over Ba but this did seem to be a border agency issue, one which West Brom seemingly pursued and put right, we're we chasing Edu too hard too sort out Popov?
A minor grumble but one which aint sitting too right at the moment, Well done Tony on the other signings.

Guess the capped one had decided perhaps he wasn't his type, afterall he was left footed and had played constantly at left back.......bet TP said "nah, let's leave him"

Word is that Pennant tackled him several times during training and Pulis realised he was... well... not suitable

According too the rimmers, it was because pennant put him on his arse in training, although popov never came training for stoke and didnt step foot in CW, so yeah, they do anything to protect golden boy.

West Brom website apparently stated yesterday it was over wages and Stoke did not offer permanent deal after loan.
So if true Stoke were not telling us the truth and spun their own version of things?

His agent found a hidden clause in the small print - something about the half way line...

If Pennant did put him on his Arse,it's a good job we didn't put Walters up agaist him,or we could have signed him for £10m. ;D

It is extraordinary that we had Boenisch on trial for a week, 'signed' Popov a few days later (presumably decided soon after tyhat we wouldn't be pursuing it for whatever reason), then quietly saw the last 3 wks of the window out without bringing anyone in there.
Odd.

It does need sorting, but I'm glad we decided against Popov personally.

Wilko has been torn apart a number of times but we still employ him? I was merely commenting on Popov being grade A wank for a specialist left back. Wilko clearly struggles and that's something Pulis has failed to resolve, but he's a limited player being played out of position. I think we'll see Wilson at left back and Cameron shifted to right back more often than not this season, which should be adequate enough.

Maybe he really thinks W&W are good enough!

Neither are suitable and their inclusions in those roles will hold us back, without question in my opinion.

Because someone probably mentioned to Tone the possibility of Charlie Adam + Steven N'Zonzi for a total of £6million and probably proceeded to remove his penis from Popov's posterior and concentrate on them two.
It's another one of Tone's bad habits, he seems to become obsessed with signing a certain player and seems to forget where they will fit into the team and indeed the other areas of the pitch where we need to strengthen.

Wilson is a versatile footballer, has the ability to keep the ball and recycle possession from the back. Not ideal, but good enough ''to do a job''

With a genuine left back we would have a stong left side, Wilson does ok but hasn't convinced me that LB is his position for a long period. Can ping a ball right side though. Adam is key to all this and will need to link up well to compete for the second ball
