I've researched as far back as the 2008-09 season and I'm still yet to find an occasion we've managed to record 16 shots on goal in an away fixture. Unfortunately the BBC website doesn't provide statistics from as far back as the 2008-09 season so I'm unable to see how much further this statistic runs on for. I have been able to check our shots at goal via the Guardian from our 2 away victories in the 2008-09 season though, and both games fall comfortably short of 16 shots.
Looking at that, I am pretty confident in saying yesterday's game was the most shots at goal we have ever recorded away from home in the Premier League.
If that isn't a reason to be positive, I don't know what is.
