The wolves fans would be more than happy to take Whelan off our hands so I've seen on their message boards.

IF he signs he will transform our midfield. His range of passing is second to non, he can ping it through to the flying wingers behind the full back or slip a through ball through to pick out.......jerome/owen? Also his delivery from set pieces is better than anyone we have had in the last 10 years. This is the danny murphy/jimmy bullard-esque midfielder we have cried out for since promotion. Also he isnt THAT slow and can put a tackle in when needed but we al know that ;D transform our midfield? we'll have about 15 midfielders by the end of the day ;D

Hopefully we'll get him signed early enough for him to play against Wigan.

IF Adam signs and IF Whelan does go then I think we could get a nice tidy profit on him. Despite what us fans may think of him, look at it from an outside perspective. He's a regular in the premier league and a regular Ireland international. All good points for us getting a couple of million for him in my opinion.

Charlie Adam eh? Christ, there's going to be some slinging of water bottles and flailing of arms when he's on the pitch...and that's just from March and Mysticaldescent. Notoriety! You forgot hurling of baseball caps, swearing at Dave Kemp and so on. ;D I think that this signing - along with our sudden desire to collect midfielders like Neil Warnock collects strikers - must surely herald a switch in formation. 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 would be my guess if it happens at all, either of which would be a relief from the current system in its present state.

I could even see walters dropping back (as he has openly admitted) and switching with Adam at point during the game, surely better than the crab or can't shoot won't shoot going forward?

I agree with you he is a good player but is made to play in set up that does not let him show it. Trouble is Adam may struggle even more in the same cage.

To the opposition and the crowd. If we can get him trying to pass shorter it could work, but the way we bypass the midfield and his showing over the past couple of years suggest the ball boys and girls will be very busy.

The iminent signing of Charles Graham Adam must signal a change in approach from the manager.
Please let it be true. Happy days.
Good signing if used properly. Will he play tomorrow?

Not just Adam but all these midfielders must signal a change in style, which is a welcome one. I'm guessing is may not work straight away. We'll have to be patient and get behind e team if it takes a while to bed in.

It sounds like they're trying to force the deal through before 12 so that he'll be eligible to play tomorrow. If it's after 12 then he won't, I think. It would be a bit depressing if he did play tomorrow and he was caged.

Which of our many passing targets do you think he will pass to? My bet is the long ball into Crouch.

I think he could be a great signing. Think about it, he's tailor made for the cage. He's not quick, not a player who breaks past the forwards. He has a fantastic range of passing from deep, has a long range shot on him and isn't afraid to get stuck in. Add that to him being one of the best in the league at delivery from set pieces and he could be brilliant for us. Stick him alongside some quicker players in midfield and he's perfect. Just have to hope TP doesn't stick him out on the wing....

Red Card Charlie. Crikey! With him and Wilko and Huthy in the side, we could be down to eight men by half time. But I like it. OS.

Lets all sing a song
"I got sunshine in my stomach Like I just rocked my baby to sleep. I got sunshine in my stomach But I can't keep me from creeping sleep, Sleep, deep in the deep. Rockface moves to press my skin White liquid turn sour within Turn fast - turn sour Turn sweat - turn sour. Must tell myself that I'm not here. I'm drowning in a liquid fear. Bottled in a strong compression, My distortion shows obsession In the cave. Get me out of this cave! <-------- If I keep my self-control, I'll be safe in my soul. And the childhood belief Brings a moment's relief, But my cynic soon returns And the lifeboat burns. My spirit just never learns. Stalactites, stalagmites Shut me in, lock me tight. Lips are dry, throat is dry. Feel like burning, stomach churning, I'm dressed up in a white costume Padding out leftover room. Body stretching, feel the wretching In the cage Get me out of the cage!"

Sorry, but i just cant get excited anymore about anyone Sir Tone signs. I wouldnt put any money on Adams even GETTING a game never mind being any good. But,fingers crossed. Good player Adams. So is Palacios,Tuncay,Kitson,Jerome etc. I also DO believe this might be Sir Tones last chance. Cant believe Sir Peter will put with anyone wasting anymore of his money much longer. Hes a business man. They dont get rich by throwing money away.
