It was good to see Jamies Ness play 20 minutes tonight.
What have we learned about him?
1) He can play a decent pass - one lovely through ball to Crouch
2) He can't take a fucking throw in (2 obvious foul throws but only pulled up for one of them
3) Unlike Demba Ba's mythically exploding knee, clearly Mr Ness really does have an exploding groin.
Whoever is responsible for conducting our medicals probably needs sacking!

His 1st touch being a 25 yard pars right onto pennants toe wasn't bad either, and his corner he took, clearly can pass but that's pointless If he can't stay fit.

Whoever is responsible for conducting our medicals probably needs sacking! That very true. I'm dying to see what happens to Huddlestone if he signs for another club. He'll be the next Demba Ba.

What position did he play when he came on?

He couldn't stay fit at Rangers either ...
Was it a bit of a risk to use all three of our substitutes when we brought him on?
EDIT: Left back Rossi.

Give the lad a chance! Injuries can happen to any player, any time. We signed a fit Rory Delap and we all know what happened to him on his home debut. These things happen. If it was for Peter Hoekstra been injury prone, I wouldn't of witnessed the best hat trick scored at the Britannia Stadium. The only reason we got him was because of his injuries effected his career.

What position did he play when he came on? Left back. Which was bizarre. Why we didn't move Deano or Cameron to full back and give the lad a chance to shine I really don't fucking know. As for his injury, I guess that's why Rangers fans called him "chocolate legs"

stupid signing given his injury record , mainly due to a complete lack of knowledge of players

I thought it was common knowledge that Huddlestone hasn't signed due to the loan deal not because of a failed medical.

Glad we gave him a 4 year deal.
Does he have Tonge's agent?

Although I don't actually know people like dave Watson personally I do know my fair share of physios and I can promise you that the level of knowledge and expertise within football medical staff is unbelievable, and they work themselves into the ground. You will have to find another scape goat unfortunately.

You are right York. Our fitness team and physio's have a decent record when it comes to keeping people fit.
HOWEVER, as far as I'm aware, Dave Watson or whatever his name is, doesn't conduct the medicals. They are often done by an outside body, mainly based at the Nuffield in Newcastle.
We were assured that Ness was over his groin injuries but clearly that isn't the case. After missing 18 months of football due to a groin injury, 20 minutes into his debut, he does it again without, seemingly, any exertion.
Demba Ba doesn't have an exploding knee but it seems that old Loch Ness may well have an exploding groin!

He picked a shocking time to decide to walk off the pitch.
Swindon had a corner, he walked into the box, said he was off and started trudging up the pitch towards the tunnel.
He left behind a group of players that were trying to work out how to adjust with 10 men, hence not concentrating on the corner, and we conceded.
He really should've waited until after the corner - or gone down again and allowed the players to re-group. Absolutely shocking.

Another useless player signed by TP. One season injured, one another on loan, and to be released after

Totally agree about the poor timing of his departure. Even if he just manned a post he could have played a part but sadly the defending was atrocious, man-down or not.
I thought in the short time that he was that he looked our best passer and most cultured player, even at left-back.
He's unlikely to make it with us!

The difference is Rory broke his leg, it was a freek accident. Ness has been out injured for 18 months, 20 minutes into his debut he's got the same injury. What is also worrying is that we are trying to sign Owen, Dawson and Huddlestone.

No, he couldn't move and therefore couldn't "man a post" and may well have played them onside. Dean Whitehead told him to go and take up a position out of the area
