Today, we played against the worst Arsenal team we have come up against since promotion. They lacked both creativity and a player or two capable of sticking the ball in the onion bag. Having said that, I think they looked a better team in terms of organisation and rigidity at the back.
Although when the final whistle went I was a little disappointed at the fact we didn't get at them more and we failed to create chances. I honestly think we could've won if we had!
I think a draw was probably the best outcome of today's game. If we had have won Pulis would've buried his head in the sand and probably not paid attention to the fact we need to add quality in a number of places before the transfer window closes.
Look at like this. I see the key to attacking successfully, as like a food chain or a 'service chain' shall we say. The Centre Midfielders need to provide service for the wingers or the Strikers. The wingers need to provide service for the Strikers. Neither of which happened today, the only chance we made was when Walters got sent through and 'passed' the ball to their keeper.
The squad we have now, is without a doubt the strongest squad we've had since promotion. It's just missing a few 'key' elements to make a successful and winning formula.
1. A Central Midfielder who is confident on the ball and with a good passing range. 2. A Left Back 3. A goalscoring striker to partner Crouch 4. (If Matty goes) A Winger.
Hopefully, next week will be a busy one for us transfer wise. I'm hoping TP has got a few players in mind that are yet to be mentioned on here or within the media. If we can add some more quality in those key areas. I don't see any reason why we can't push for a top 8 finish this season.

#3 on your list is the one we need above all else, mate. A James Beattie with a bit more pace.
Defensively we look really, really good.

It was a good result today.
Before the season started I predicted we'd draw our first four games. Wish I'd put a bet on it now.

our defending is up with the top of the league. Bring in some very good attackers and stoke city are a top 10 side. I have no fear about our beloved team until 11 0clock Friday. TP does know what he is doing. nothing amazing but a team who should be in the PL for years to come.what more do supporters want. I would hate to win 9/10 matches how boring is that.
