...Football and score two goals AT Citeh!!! Just who do they think they are!!! We have been fooled into starting with ten men all out of position behind the ball and not allowed to get out of our own half in these games because if we dare to attack we will get beat 10 as we are so often told on here by the clueless lot??? We though play ULTRA negative and still lose weakly and painfully 3-0 without having a shot so what is the point!!! Blimey Saints equalised and took the lead in the same game with a team so short on Prem experienced players it was unreal to see!!! Well done Nigel and the Saints FOR HAVING BALLS!!! We have been conned folks! I wonder when we will attempt to score in the league AT Citeh maybe when we have wasted 150m on dross!! I also remember saying about 3/4 years ago to look at taking Lambert for about 1.5/2m because he had great ability around the box and could be a steal....guess what i was shot down by the same clueless lot because he had not played in the Prem!!! well well well eh who's RIGHT again.......Great GOAL AT CITY Ricky!!! Well done jarhead, you just can't stop being right you

Are people really so precious as to get worked up by those comments? We went up & stayed up, can't be good to store up such bitterness after all these years. No and it's not the reason I dislike the bloke either. I dislike him because I saw an interview with him ref. Oxlade-Chamberlain when he was heavily linked with Arsenal. In the interview he came across as a total cock and virtually said that he would be better off at Southampton under him than at Arsenal under Wenger. Now i'm no Wenger lover but his record at developing footballers from a lower level into a Tier 2 or Tier 1 European footballer is second to none. If Adkins had his way, Oxlade-Chamberlain wouldn't have ended up going to the Euro's this summer and had one of the experiences of a lifetime. In short, the bloke is a prick. I don't like Adkins, but in the long run Oxlade-Chamberlain could be better off as the star of this Southampton team than being groomed as the next flawed brat off the Wenger conveyor belt.

Ruts is comparing our normal display at Man City with Southampton's today, not our performance yesterday with Southampton's today.

yes of course it is Paul-and still they lost. What's whether Southampton lost or not got to do with anything? I said what we were watching was like watching a different sport and it was. I think you're getting way to defensive here when there isn't anything to be defensive about. There no way on earth Tony Pulis is going to start going to places like Man Citeh and trying to give them a game, why should he - it's not what he does? It doesn't mean I can't make an obersvation on how other manager's are playing their football though. Sorry Paul, it's the same sport just a different style. And I'm getting defensive about nothing. TP screwed up big time yesterday by attempting to park the bus.. not for the first time. I wonder if you'd have been so negative yourself, if say, we'd held on for 3 points yesterday?

Can I just point out that (a) "Like watching a different sport" is an attempt to relate it to a different sport ..or why use the word "different"? and (b) It's none of your business? Thanks in advance... ;D

It is my business because it was my message that Paul originally replied to to say it was like watching a different sport.
The situation is actually thus: watching Stoke is like watching a different sport because almost every game we play is reduced to a scrap for the ball, which is much more like a different sport, like rugby, like.

Jesus wept.
It's like watching a different sport = the difference between the way Stoke play the game of football and others play the game of football is so great that it is LIKE watching a different sport. Not IT IS, IT IS LIKE. Most teams pass the ball along the ground, we don't. Most football matches are exciting in parts, most of ours aren't. Most managers set up to try and get something from every game, ours doesn't. See the pattern? We play football differently than most other teams so it's LIKE watching a different sport. Clear?
