Nope, just saying it's like watching a completely different sport ... which it is. No it's not..it's a different STYLE Paul, that's all. Southampton lost just the same. Jesus wept you didn't actually believe that I thought we were watching a different sport - of course it's a different style.

I'd sooner lose 4-2 than 2-0, because at least you'd get to celebrate a few goals. If you lose and don't score, then you have fuck all to cheer about. Fair play to Reading, they went and gave it a go but Man City's quality came through in the end. Fair play to Reading, they coped with the Stoke onslaught and nicked a point.

You feel better when you're on the way home than you do during play.

Southampton did well when they had the ball sat deep and broke when they won the ball back, same tactics we use but they did it better than us today. But lets be honest Man city didnt seem botherd until they were behind.

You simply have to be joking. 1) Southampton's second goal came from a counter attack in which FIVE players ended up in Manchester City's box. Do we even put five players in the box at set-pieces? 2) We've had just one attempt on target (a Ryan Shawcross header) in our last two visits to the Etihad. 3) If we'd somehow managed to make it 1-1 we wouldn't have even dreamt of leaving our own half of the pitch, let alone attempting to get another goal. 4) A central midfielder scored their second goal. A central midfielder. In the opponents' penalty area. Away at Manchester City!

Adkins rather famously said something like he'd rather be relegated playing the Scunthorpe way than be promoted playing the Stoke way. Football duly obliged as we went top of the league that night and they got further rooted to the bottom of the table.

Clearly still got Reading on my fucking mind.

I mean, it's still football whatever division you're in isn't it so why not have something exciting to watch? Although no doubt the Scunthorpe fans would tell me to fuck off.

Are people really so precious as to get worked up by those comments? We went up & stayed up, can't be good to store up such bitterness after all these years.

We generally always play well at home against big teams. The team feed off the crowd, when Pulis can't rely on that he struggles.

Nothing against Saints and he's done an excellent job. Doesn't make him any less the wanker I think he is. See also Alan Pardew.

Are there any managers we WOULDN'T laugh at if they fell on their arse?
Cotterill- tick Wenger- tick Rodgers- tick Pardew- tick Adkins- tick Fergie- tick Mancini- tick Hughes- tick Villas-Boas- tick Warnock- tick Coyle- tick Brown- tick Mowbray- tick Kean- tick
And that's without even bothering to think about it. Managers are self-satisfied twats: get over it.

No and it's not the reason I dislike the bloke either. I dislike him because I saw an interview with him ref. Oxlade-Chamberlain when he was heavily linked with Arsenal. In the interview he came across as a total cock and virtually said that he would be better off at Southampton under him than at Arsenal under Wenger. Now i'm no Wenger lover but his record at developing footballers from a lower level into a Tier 2 or Tier 1 European footballer is second to none. If Adkins had his way, Oxlade-Chamberlain wouldn't have ended up going to the Euro's this summer and had one of the experiences of a lifetime. In short, the bloke is a prick.

For what it's worth I thought Saints were lumberingly awful in the Championship last season and certainly second best to Reading. However they did well today with very low possession but it just seemed their luck ran out in the end. Certainly had echos of QPR's visit to Man City at the fag end of last season.

What's whether Southampton lost or not got to do with anything? I said what we were watching was like watching a different sport and it was. I think you're getting way to defensive here when there isn't anything to be defensive about. There no way on earth Tony Pulis is going to start going to places like Man Citeh and trying to give them a game, why should he - it's not what he does? It doesn't mean I can't make an obersvation on how other manager's are playing their football though.

...Football and score two goals AT Citeh!!!
Just who do they think they are!!!
We have been fooled into starting with ten men all out of position behind the ball and not allowed to get out of our own half in these games because if we dare to attack we will get beat 10 as we are so often told on here by the clueless lot???
We though play ULTRA negative and still lose weakly and painfully 3-0 without having a shot so what is the point!!!
Blimey Saints equalised and took the lead in the same game with a team so short on Prem experienced players it was unreal to see!!!
Well done Nigel and the Saints FOR HAVING BALLS!!!
We have been conned folks!
I wonder when we will attempt to score in the league AT Citeh maybe when we have wasted 150m on dross!!
I also remember saying about 3/4 years ago to look at taking Lambert for about 1.5/2m because he had great ability around the box and could be a steal....guess what i was shot down by the same clueless lot because he had not played in the Prem!!! well well well eh who's RIGHT again.......Great GOAL AT CITY Ricky!!!
