Yeah every pitch same size
TP said something along the lines of we had to make pitch much bigger for Europa League and we did well in that and also that the new premier league size isnt as big as the Europa sized one last year

So I take it all teams have to use the smallest size due to some clubs only having the area not much bigger than Stokes pitch size last season. You obviously can't make the pitch bigger than it can physically be.

Won't it work to our advantage that the bigger pitches will have to be made smaller which should suit us.

Almost beggars belief that there isn't a standard pitch size already.
Can you imagine a tennis match where the players turn up and the court is some random size between a minimum and a maximum.
It would just be laughable.

Yeah because a football player can kick a ball 140mph from one side of the pitch to the other I'm in tune with your sarcasm but I am not sure how that negates the argument for a standard football pitch size?

I agree with you really, it's just that tennis sizes have always been the same and football pitches have always been different. It has always been part of the way to adapt tactics accordingly, a team game not a one on one. I agree with goal line technology so I guess to be fair the pitches should be the same size but not a must.

QPR have the smallest pitch in the league I think and they have precious little extra to play with. If they make their pitch bigger they'll be playing in the stands. So we can assume that if it's being standardised that most other pitches will be getting smaller. Which of course would be to our advantage.

Mr Wenger won't be happy He'll be furious! I really can't see this being true to be honest. The big clubs hold sway in England and I can't see the likes of United, City & Arsenal settling for something like this. They love their big pitches as they can tear teams apart on them. Surely it'll just be the same regulations as last season with min/max dimensions to adhere to. Otherwise we'll all have pitches the size of QPR's unless special dispensation is made for them.

Don't the Campions' League clubs all have identically sized pitches due to European constraints? Arsenal don't have one set of lines for the league that mark out something the size of a cricket pitch, with a tiny pitch for Europe.
