Interesting, but not surprising. The only surprise is they managed to ask enough Wigan fans for a decent enough confidence interval.

The last survey that I saw had us with a much higher percentage than that.
It depends what they determine as the same postcode I suppose.
If they are using just "ST" then that figure looks very low indeed.

"Surprisingly, Manchester United and Liverpool both appear in the top 5 most-supported London clubs ahead of Premiership teams who are based in London such as Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United."
What is surprising about that? ???

Can't imagine it can just be ST, using Swansea as an example even Fishguard has a SA postcode and thats 75 miles outside of Swansea. Not a chance 52% of their support comes outside of a SA postcode.

That Man Citeh percentage is interesting, well maybe not interesting but although i'm more than well aware that people relocate and therefore don't live within the postcode of their stadium anymore. Man Citeh followers, and i do mean followers have popped up all over the place since their new found wealth and status. Funny that! I don't live in the postcode of our stadium though, i'm in ST5, such a glory hunter! I should fuck off down the Vale

They surveyed 13,000 people?
Considering the amount of people attending games.every week is in the hundreds of thousands, its a bit of a waste of time really.

completely pointless. i reckon if you count all the manure fans in india/china/japan/america/wherever you will be down to about 2% of them who live in manchester. same goes with the other top clubs.
13,000 is nothing!

Not surprised Wigan and Norwich are top but for very different reasons.
Wigan is right on the doorstep of Manchester and has very little history to speak of, giant killing in their non-league days is probably their only claim to fame. So with Manchester United and Manchester City on their door step very few people from outside the area are going to jump on this band wagon.
Norwich is in the arse end of nowhere. You have to flog your way through 80 miles of fens to get there and when you do frankly it's not worth it.

I'm ST7, but clearly, this depends on how much housing is in the surrounding area, in should be done on Stoke-on-Trent or Manchester (etc..) postcodes.

haha I must be some form of alien, I was born in a CM18 postcode then moved to a RM9 postcode then a HA1 now I am ST3.
So if you take the survey by Right Move that makes me in vicinity of the Britannia but 3 weeks ago I was HA1. How many people now live within ST4 etc but watch Stoke just because they love football and not particularly support the team but are possibly from another postcode/town
