A monster of a first gig - Led Zeppelin at Trentham Gardens in 1973 for my 13th birthday.
Next was a bit of a downgrade - Status Quo.
Back then it seemed like every big act in the world - The Who, Rolling Stones etc - played Stafford Bingley Hall and a few years later all of the non Cockney punk bands played the Vici hall. Happy days.

W.A.S.P. headless children tour 1989 at vicky hall. A spotty greasy haired teenager with a denim jacket & patches on it back. I then went to see Alice Cooper (trash tour) at the nec.

A lot of 'cool' first time gigs... Is everyone being honest? My first was Adeva at Cambridge Corn Exchange. Made up on quality since however! Shouldn't imagine anyone is bullshitting mate ;D A fairly honest bunch who post on these kind of threads. My first was AC/DC and my second was queen at wembley in '86. Luckily i had a dad who used to take me to gigs and stoke games. Fucking sound ;D

All right now, My first band were The Amazing Blondel at the Viccy Hall in 1970 ............. supporting Free.
Capto - didn't know you were at the Floyd Gig. Were you with Me?? Always thought you were a bit more Duran Duran !!!!
Re the Theremin thing have seen it in use both at the aforementioned Zeppelin gig and also last year by Joe Bonamassa at the Apollo Manchester.
If anyone doesn't know Joe Bonamassa then check him out on YouTube. The hardest working and best Blues/Rock guitarist around (he also plays lead guitar in Black Country Communion)
