Just wondering where you guys think RVP will end up by the start of the Prem season. Any chance of a U-turn & stay at Arsenal? If he goes to City would they offload Tevez and Dzeko? Where does that leave Mario? And do you think he would be the perfect foil for Rooney at United? Lots of questions to be answered. If I was him I'd go to Barca and play up top with Messi & Iniesta!

To be honest, I don't give a fuck. He is still the overrated player he has always been. After ONE decent season he is suddenly the worlds best striker.

Don't think you can really call it 1 good season. You're possibly over-reacting just because he was part of an under performing Dutch side at the Euros.

He will still be at Arsenal on a vastly improved contract.

If i did include how he performed in the Euros i would of said "For instance take a look at how he did in the Euros. He was shit, just like all the other seasons, except for the previous one where he scored 30+" So yes, that is one good season..

I'd say they were both equally fantastic strikers. Not sure how RVP is overrated though...

You're just listing really good strikers, I fail to see how any are better than van persie.

John Walters. Well obviously I was taking him out of the equation - that one goes without saying

when you think of overrated players zlatan ibrahimovic comes to mind . Quoting from another thread here.. "234 goals in 490 starts. Won the league in 8 of the last 9 seasons." And that is over 3 different leagues. That is not overrated.

You're just listing really good strikers, I fail to see how any are better than van persie. They are a lot more consistent. Outline one good season in his 8 years time at arse before the previous one. Sure the last one was his most prolific but he's improved every season up to that. Also since we're talking of the best striker at the moment I'd say his last season is the most important factor, bearing in mind how well he did for a club with a weaker team who in total scored far fewer goals than the other players' clubs that you speak of.

So he's had one good season at arsenal and is 29 (Next month) Sorry but that really isn't a world class striker. Anyway, the most important thing for him if he wants this "World class striker" tag is to follow it up this season coming up. We will see!

over 60 of his goals were scored in the swedish league with malmo and the Eredivisie with ajax , which to be fair aren't that good so if people are judging him on being "world class" he has scored 170 goals in La Liga and in Serie A
