Really dont see what the problem is. Top bloke is Paddy Mcguiness. However if the remark had come from someone as unfunny and untalented as say Alan Davies then it would be just cause for someone to smash his face in. he isnt... he's well up his own arse. demands things from people and expects it to be done for him. someone i know who works in Vodafone in manc served him once. apparently he was horrible. paddy isn't horrible at all met him a few times after shows and he's great

Saw him in Greggs one afternoon. They were just giving him a big fat brown envelope stuffed full of money whilst demanding a pound from me for a friggin steak bake. Bastards.

Some people are so precious. Someone makes a little joke about us and they are moaning like he's slated the club from top to bottom.

He was very good in Pheonix Nights, then again he had very good material. Most of his televised work without Peter Kay has consisted of reading shite from an autocue. It shows the quality of writing in Pheonix Nights and perhaps the (lack of) depth of Paddys' talent. A cheap shot at Stoke is just that, cheap. However, if enough people didnt see some truth in it, then the gag wouldnt work. Nevertheless, I suspect that anyone other than "sensitive" Stokies would have treated it with the transience it deserves.

Paddy Mcguinness really isnt funny at all though is he. If it wasnt for Peter Kay he would be cleaning toilets somewhere.

agreed, his character was amusing because of the writing in Pheonix Nights, since then his "talents" have been exposed, he was the "victim" of "writing over ability" and every persona he has tried to adopt since has tried to recreate that success, but has only served to reinforce that failure. He is a one-trick pony who nicked , could not build upon, and then forgot his one trick

Am agreeing again. I also saw his "stand up". His mentor, Peter Kay , has made a success out of playing characters, but "standing up" as himself. PMs' stand up was the extension of a creation. To try and take that beyond the situation comedy is very difficult to achieve effectively, Norman stanley Fletcher in "Porridge" was a superb character, but Ronnie Barker didnt attempt to take it to stand up. Perhaps one of the few "successes" has been Al Murray as the Pub Landlord, but I am not convinced that even that persona would have been better left to a comedy series. Paddy Mcguinness is piggy backing a living off Pheonix Nights and Peter Kay, as that comedy becomes nostalgia, hopefully so will become PGs' career and then he may reach his true potential/level............cleaning toilets I think was suggested

Some people are so precious. Someone makes a little joke about us and they are moaning like he's slated the club from top to bottom. Why make thing up? Where are all the people on this thread "moaning at him like he's slated the club from top to bottom"? Most people are just commenting on their opinions of HIM as a comedian. People are perfectly free to pass an opinion, you know, like people being allowed to pass an opinion on a football club. Most of the posts on here don't care at all about his comments but don't rate him as a conman (Sorry COMEDIAN).

I started this thread I have to say his comment didn't offend me one bit.
We can give it, we should be able to take it too.
