Just had a look on the Sentinel and expected to see something about Jamie Ness but it seems as though "the last bastion of the free western press" that great "organ o the north" has us in for a different Ranger -Steve Naismith? as he has the right Pulis DNA etc etc According to the article he will be competition for SJ Walters and Mama in the "holding"role!

Competition and Mama Sidibe are not two phrases that sit comfortably together.
May I suggest a more suitable marriage of ''bench'' and Mama Sidibe

If that's right we the Walters and mama bit as our first choice holders regardless of Naismith we have a very funny idea amongst the management team of progress .

Naismith is a good player and if fit could be a great foil for Crouch.

I like Naismith. Still think we should have gone in for Jelavic as well. Even if he turned us down, would have been nice to have made an offer.

He's looked well cack whenever i've seen him. Bad touch, pretty slow, always seems to make the wrong choice. Works hard though, which means...

Reason why he has stayed in Scotland all these years ... Looks a step or two off the pace whenever I have watched Rangers in Champions League or Europa League. No thanks.

SPL = Micky Mouse. SPL players = league 2 standard. This is not progress!

If we're raiding Rangers kindly tell Naismith to stay the fuck in Scotland and walk over to discuss terms with Sone Aluko instead, at least that lad has got some pace about him.

The country really has become a back water of mediocrity. I was shocked 2 summers ago by the state of the clubs that I was shown. We would be better off looking in the English 3rd Division. It really is that bad. If anyone doubts the paucity of talent in Scotland then just remember that 2 of the star players for their top team are Ledley and Commons.

Naismith has a name for diving. Best buy from the huns would be Bocanegre - USA captain and centre back (you can never have too many centre backs).

Am i being cynical FM but are we all of a sudden treading the free transfer options? Maybe we are saving " the cash " for other targets in which case the squad looks like it could have a few new entries into it?

Completely underwhelmed if we sign Naismith. The bloke has looked slow and poor every time I've seen him play. We are desperate for some trickery and pace in the side.

STOKE CITY have targeted Steven Fletcher and Steven Naismith to be their Premier League strike partnership.
Where is Crouchie going then - right back?

Those who think we are too good for the likes of Naismith need to check themselves - he is an international with plenty of European competition experience, ready to spend the peak years of his career with us (now 25) and seems to me to be a hard working, all-action forward who would fit our system well behind Crouch. He is not prolific, but a club record of 1 in 3 to 4 suggests he is capable of 10/15 goals a season. Oh, and he is FREE!!!
