A personal view is within that is the heart of the problem. We should be entering a golden age of watching Stoke City on the pitch and the future as a Premier League club being assured as far as these things can be for years to come. What I'm seeing is short term stumbling from one season to the next propped up with expenditure above our means and a football style that is regressing. I don't think he should be sacked on the basis of he has delivered progress to date overall. However it is not progress much more than could have reasonably been expected given the backing and there is a good argument it has foundations in sand. Pulis has form in this respect. When he was booted out before he left a shambles and then had the cheek to claim on the radio that Stoke supporters should expect at least a play off season. Our club will probably never have the advantages it has now and people are right to look and question if things are being done that make the best advantage of this. The investment opportunities of the present cannot be spunked away. If you think Pulis is truly maximising the benefits of our golden ticket then fair enough. I don't see it that way and neither do an increasing number. Let's relax and judge by what we see in the window and on the pitch next season? Decent post Mark but one question How do you know its an increasing number?Surely your not going by 20 or so numpties on here? As I said Sarge, a personal opinion. I'm basing it on the growing discontent I detect in the stands around where I sit. On the concourse and in the boozer after the game. It may be me but it was getting increasingly difficult to find people content with what they were watching. The exception was when Tazi comes out for a beer! Your experience may be different. To be fair it is hardly a few "numpties on here'. It seems to me that the rumbles of general discontent are growing on here and at the stadium in pretty parallel percentages. I honestly find it difficult to understand how at least the second half of last season could be anything other than disappointing to any supporter.

Padders...I have said many times that our approach to the 2nd half of last season was unnecessary.
The continued use of Walters, Shotton and Wilson drove me to distraction in the end and I couldn't bear to watch any of them for one minute longer.
I had truly had enough and our approach is very much to blame for me feeling like that. Throw in the surrender against Valencia and the Fuller situation and it is fair to say that you have the reasons as to why I feel the way I do right now.
All that said, I can see where Foxy is coming from and like a high on drugs, a come down from an FA Cup Final and a European adventure was always going to end with a pretty big bump.
I just hope that my enthusiasm returns as the season approaches and I can put my feelings down to the "come down" rather than being sick to the back teeth of Pulis and his approach!

I don't get to many games, but the last 3 I have gone to have been miserable affairs. Sitting in the pub after with nothing positive to talk about. Same old same old.

Have to say where i sit in the Q Railing lower[near March] ;D there are very few discontenting voices but having said that there are very few voices .I really hope that with no Europa league this season we see a return to the team we saw after the West Ham cup win until the end of the season before last because i thought we were excellent. We have to get the wingers whoever they may be flying again.

I think most of us would settle for that any day of the week. I can't understand why we spent £20m to go backwards from what was undoubtedly the best spell under Pulis. However, that would restore a lot of people's faith.

I honestly find it difficult to understand how at least the second half of last season could be anything other than disappointing to any supporter. The 2nd half of last season was a massive disappointment not only because of our slide down the league but also we were totally found wanting by sides we would have expected to do well against . The team collectively and individualy lost form and confidence and for the first time since we were promoted I honestly think we went backwards. We certainly lacked the ability to put teams under pressure and our away form was absolutely shameful. Pulis is right to point out that next season will be the hardest yet in the top flight not only because the other teams are improving around us but because of the way we finished the season off. As the Peter principle states " eventually within an organisation everyone will reach His own level of incompetence " it will be a defining season for the capped crusader

I'll tell you right now, this coming season will be worse. It's only a matter of time before the manager goes on about the new TV deal and how important 40 points will be.
It's going to be pragmatastic!

Stop talking about losing a cup final as being a major achievement ffs. Sound like fucking Cardiff. The only consequence was qualifying for the 'europe' We know how that ended. Tell me about it, that's how small time some of our supporters are.

Swansea is one of thios who started supporting us in May 2007 after the Leicester game so he's unlikely to know that it s was our first EVER Cup Final in 148 years of existance. You reckon that's true do you?? In fact it couldn't be the opposite, since we've been promoted I've attended less than 10 games. Drivel like that is cowardly as fuck, I won't even type what I'd really love to say. Cup finals mean fuck all, fact. It's down to circumstance. P.S I hope you're referring to just the FA CUP final, otherwise you really are a shit on an internet messageboard. Those tricks are fuck all nugget. Bang on, drivel like that really is cowardly as fuck.

I'd call you a twat but everyone else would probably resent being grouped together with you ;D Everybody is a twat who doesn't support Pulis and his shit, gutless, spineless, boring, moderatley successful methods. ;D Your a fucking small time joker

It shouldn't be like that Padders, you are right, especially when I read Mark O'Connor describe Pennant as one of the best players we have and a player who should be knocking on the door of the England squad.
If we have a player like that in our ranks, then surely Dave Kemp should not consider that player to be a luxury we can't afford when up against the likes of Fulham.
It shouldn't be like that but hopefully we just lost our way a bit last season and will re-find the real Stoke City next season.
I think we have been brilliant for 3 seasons in the Premier League. Last year we were shit, went backwards and it is hard to understand why! Hopefully next season will be better.

NJ - So Tony, this will be your fifth season of Premier League status, how do you expect it to go? TP - pfffffffffffffffffft, it's going to be a tough one Nige, I'd say our toughest yet, I was only joking about the previous 4 being the toughest. What people must remember Nige is We are with the big boys in the top top league of the best best league in the world, did you get that Nige I said the BEST league. These clubs have top top players, look at Reading Dave Kitson scored 11 goals for them one season before I took him off their hands to try to shoe horn him into Mama's role. They had Noel Hunt, he was still playing Premier League football with Wolves until the end of last season, they will be a touygh opposistion this year Nige. NJ - What about the others that have come up? TP - They will be well up for the challenge, WHU have some top top players, you know what your going to get from West Ham, they will spend. NJ - Yeah, I do see your point Tony but you havn't been exactly spending small change yourself have you. TP - Nah Nah when you consider Man City spent £30 M on Aquero and Chelsea have spent £50M on Torress, you can't compete with that Nige. NJ - To be fair we wern't looking at getting a top 4 place Tony, we arejust asking for your opinion on the championship top 3 coming up. TP - Well like I said Nige, this season will be the toughest yet, we can not compete, we are just little old Stoke City, a lightweight punching at Heavy weight. We do have the Coates family to thank though, they are triffic at giving me money to spend on good quality senior pro's NJ - I'm surprised you manage to sign anyone half decent with that kind of attitude to be fair Tone. ??? TP - Like a say Nige, we're a lightweight punching at heavyweight. NJ - Maybe you should get a new trainer in then to help you through your moves. TP - Moves? ??? NJ - PASS THE FUCKING BALL AND SHOW SOME BALLS IN ATTACKING TEAMS WHILST SHOWING BELIEF IN YOUR FUCKING PLAYERS OR GO AND WORK FOR ANDREX YOU SAD, MISERABLE 'TARD! TP - See what I mean Nige, your just like the rest, managing expectations is paramount in todays game. NJ - You just don't fucking see it do you Tony TP - See What? ???

Yogi, without European distractions we might do well... I'm no Pulis lover but I'll reserve judgement until, a. we've seen the starting line-up b. we've played a few games Then, and only then, can we justifiably offer any criticism. Anything else is purely guesswork at how things might be. We have seen good, direct, football under Pulis therefore evidence suggests it could be repeated. He deserves that much...

Its longer than most managers and hes taken us a long way in that time. But i dont know why im even bothering to respond to any of your comments, you have got serious mental issues. Im starting to think this goes beyond football, has Pulis boned your mum, ran over your dog or something?

Most managers with an ounce of nouse could achieve what Pulis has for Stoke with the funds he has had to do it and play positve decent football as a bonus, yet some of you reckon e is the be all and end all.
Sad, Negative shite football is not the only way to stay in this league, we are never going to win it either, our aim should be at least to enjoy the football well we are here and the manager should be able to serve up 'watchable' football that sits easier on the eye and grabs you into the game whilst feeling entertained. Pulis' aim is to stay in the league at all costs, how he sees it is if you get 37 0-0 draws and a win you will be in the league next season. The thing is, he does the same the next season without improving the team or play, that is with a good budget that other managers in the league would relish.

I guarantee you next season we won't play with 2 wingers until we are as good as safe, there will always be an excuse that Pulis will call a reason why we can't play 2.
All I want is to be entertained, is it to much to ask after 5 seasons of Prem football without the risk of relegation? It seems so.
