The Blob (Original with Steve McQueen) I remember having nightmares as a kid, after watching it with my siblings ๐ Same here mate. Remember when I was little watching it with my dad but I had to go to bed as it was too scary. But when I went to bed I could hear all the screaming coming from the other room and I was absolutely terrified. I was totally and utterly traumatized. Dont think I have been that scared in my life. I can still the remember that guy poking it with a stick when it crash landed.

You've even got a movie named after you bud It's a good film, have you seen it? Think Hellraiser and a sprinkling of 80s John Carpenter and Stuart Gordon. Got a definite Lovecraftian vibe. And proper 'bladder effects', no CGI in sight. No I havent yet mate, I'm notorious for buying films and not watching them, it is one sitting on my shelf that I mean to get around to. I think this has been mentioned before...

Journey to the other side of the sun aka Doppelgรคnger Brilliant film. Always spooked me when Herbert Lom took out his eye as it was a secret camera.

These robots in the six million dollar man used to scare me shitless as a young lad. I still remember those eyes genuinely scared me.
On the plus side I bloody fancied the arse off Lindsay Wagner.

See, I just didn't get Avatar. I mean, it's very well made, but it just didn't capture me. It falls into the category of too much cgi, a bit like the Hobbit movies.
To be fair, anyone waiting for the sequels is having a long wait. I'll be surprised if they do the same box office.

Well how about this 1938 corker for scarin' the pants off the listeners, then!
Orson Welles - 1938 War Of The Worlds Radio BroadcastWiki has covered it in great detail: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds_(radio_drama)And now --- be afraid - be VERY afraid --- here's the real thing, so, as Basher said in Oceans 11, "โฆโฆโฆ'ang on ter yer knickersโฆโฆ":

Speaking of War of the Worlds This is coming this year... Coo! That's a real mixed bag, Trenty. Good post! The last TV prog I watched (apart from the news & a few history docs) was 'The Bodyguard' with what's 'er face and that new little (? Scottish?) chap in. No idea what his name is. She was in a past couple of series of 'Line of Duty' and was much better in them. I know there's supposed to be a new 'Line of Duty' this year, and it was mentioned in that selection. Yay! Can't wait for that! Wonder what the new War of the Worlds will be like?!

Just a heads up, there is a channel on Sky called Forces TV. From last night onwards they've started repeating Space1999 from the very first episode. I have to say I'm hooked on it already. The model work has stood the test of time well. I think they show it at either midnight or 1am. Cracking stuff ๐๐๐๐

I revisited all these last year having not seen them since originally shown on tv. The new remake got pulled before the scheduled end and they rushed to finish the story all in one episode.
