Sorry Neville but I mean a comparison between Mark and his lad Alex. It seems Alex is destined to get more England caps than Mark who got just 8. What do we think? Is he better than his dad? I know he is still 19 but I don't think he will be a better player than Mark. maybe i have my Stoke glasses on here but Chambo was truly electric scared the life out of full backs and was a truly edge of the seat player. Don't think he gets the dewy eyed response on here that he deserves when reminiscing about old stokies.

Hopefully he won't end up like Walcott and not quite realise his potential at Arsenal. He didn't impress this evening really.

Hasn't got his dads burst of speed. Hopefully he is more applied than his dad. Didn't he have a lot of hamstring problems? One of the very rare players that created a 'buzz' around the ground whenever he got the ball, you always felt something special just might happen. Worth the entrance fee on his own and there's not many you can say that about.

Young Chambo needs a new club manager asap. Wenger bought Walcott at 16 and all the raw talent he had, shitloads of pace and direct running has been stripped from him and he's now a shadow of the player he could have been.

I thought he started off alright but faded very badly and didn't do very much. Perhaps it's a bit harsh to place any real expectations on him at 19.
Will he be as good as Mark Chamberlain? It depends, really. If he stays at Arsenal then he'll just become another Walcott. If he moves elsewhere, he may blossom.

I remember a couple of games where we lost at home during his time where Chamberlain's performance had been so wonderful that everyone cheered at the end and went home with a smile on their face. Never seen that sort of reaction to a Stoke loss before or since!

His dad had much more natural ability, much more than Barnes, who his son reminds me of. He has made a big mistake going to Arsenal, they can't coach wingers, the only players they bring on are the tippy tappy midfielders. Walcott has made absolutely no progress there.

As i live in sneyd green myself I'l forgive you for playing for them cockney c---- Mark wasn't necessarily a one season wonder, it was more down to the fact that our then manager Ritchie Barker went from playing some good football to absolutely ruining us the following season by changing to the dreaded "HOOF" ball, and totally wasting the midfield, not only Chambo, but also the likes of Mickey Thomas and Sammy McIlroy (all good players with the ability to control the midfield)!!!

I think Chambo shagged Joe's missus!
I don't care how long he lasted. No one can deny that for a short period he was the most exciting player I have ever seen down Stoke. Electric was the word.

He needs to get himsen to a big club where he will develop and be able to play his natural game. Wenger will fookin ruin him like he has with walsnott and thats why nasri, fabrigas, adebayor left and probably robin van pussey rental will leave this summer.

On his day he was undoubtedly the most exciting player I've ever seen. But he wasn't as committed as he could have been. I used to go watch traning and he'd come out later than the others and stand around. Assuming he was injured I asked the other players what his problem was and they told me he wouldn't do a lot of the fitness work. Some of the other players started to resent it too.
