if i were club management now, id be contacting blackburn and making bids for hoilett, nzonzi and yakubu right this minute. I would be doing the same with doyle, jarvis, fletcher and kightly. I would have emails ready to send regarding targets from qpr/bolton depending on who goes.

I have said the same thing regarding the Blackburn trio. I think that N'Zonzi would be an excellent addition and a realistic capture as well. Not sure we would be able to capture Hoiletts signature though?! The Yak would fit in at Stoke perfectly. I have been impressed by him when we have played Blackburn this season and his goal scoring record speaks for itself.

Surely the phone calls are already starting however surely we are going to dip our toes into europe for better value this summer. I can see better players coming in from europe but not at the same cost to us

Phone a club, offer an amount, if accepted, contact the agent to negotiate terms, if rejected, offer more or move elsewhere. simple.

After the season Matty has had and what with Pennants antics, Jarvis is a MUST signing, we need to get a deal done for him now. The team has always played well when Matty plays well, so Jarvis would help keep the shape.

Id deffo go for Robinson if Sorenson or Begovic has any plans to leave. Top keeper and the way he stayed on the pitch shaking hands and chatting with fans after the final whistle yesterday was class. Not many will do that when they just been relegated.

I wonder how many clubs will be picking our bones when we get relegated under Pulis next season. The last thing we want is players who have been relegated! We should be looking abroad. We need much more pace in the team. Most of all we need a manager who can attract the types of players who are going to move us forward not just see us fighting to get the 40 points.

What's the name of that massive German defender we got when Boro were relegated, again?

i really hate pulis not getting his players in early there are pros and cons to waiting but getting them in for pre-season out weighs anything else I say this every year but get slagged off by people who reckon TP does all his dealings at the last minute and think this is a good thing to do.I don't as they miss pre season training! Example Palacios!

Example Palacios! i think that what most people miss is that it isn't quite as simple as "Bid early, if they sign great, if they don't move on" if TP wanted to sign a load of Championship players then he could get them very easily very early and get slated by everyone on here; the targets he tends to go after tend to be players who WILL MAKE US WAIT!!!! it's not a case of "Leave it until August and see who's left before i start bidding", it's a case of players and agents taking offers on board and waiting until the last minute before they accpet in case someone better comes in. realisitically Hoilett, Moses, Diame, Jarvis etc. (i.e. all the players people want us to get) will fall into the bracket of being players that have other clubs looking at them too and so will wait to weigh up the offers. how long transfers take is very rarely to do with the management of a club and far more to do with the players themselves and their agents waiting for better offers. if you take the idea of any player that turns us down then just move on or take any players we can get early then you will spend the whole season slating him for buying sub standard players....if he bids for Premiership level players then we WILL HAVE TO WAIT for them to decide who they want to go to. if any of you genuinely think that we are in a position to bid for players and they will think "Ohhh Stoke have bid, where do i sign" then you really are seriously deluded with ideas massively above our station....we are not an attractive club to sign simply because of our wage structure and the fact that the best we have achieved so far is mid-table.we are therefore competing against teams like Fulham, Sunderland, Villa, Everton, WBA etc. who are all either bigger clubs traditionally or have the advantage of geography to attract them. every year we have this debate and people still think it's so easy to jusy buy anyone we want and it's all TP's fault we have to wait until the last minute...do any of you live in the real world or just base how you think the transfer market works on Pro Evo or Championship manager??????
