Games STARTED 33 ( yes every single game he has started )
Games scored - 5 ( 3 of which are penaltys he nicked off Etheringtons role WBA last season)
Last goal from open play November 19th v QPR.
Disgrace and embarrassing from TP.

How he continues to pick him is unreal. Players should be selected on form. Walters has been shit this season, we are desperate for a striker that knows how to score!

5 months without a goal from open play is absolutely shocking. I know it's difficult to score goals from that role but I'm sure even Mama didn't go that long without scoring.

He's missed a few pens as well as costing us a place in the Semi Final of the Cup.
Fortunately for Jon but unfortunately for us, his obvious replacement is utter dog shit.

Thought hes been a shining light when hes played, only outdone in terms of new players by Crouch but thats what you'd expect from a £10m target man

As a footballer Jerome is no better than Walters. He is however bone idle. Another waste of good money on a forward.

I was warned before he signed by a Brum fan - he is and always will be dog shit. He isn't even that good. ;D Most bone idle player I have ever seen. We need to sign someone specifically for the withdrawn role, as it is clear that Mama and Walters are not good enough.

At least he (Jerome) has actually scored some goals
I agree he was yet another poor (and pointless sigining) given our one dimensional, one horse approach. The fact that Pulis HAS to play Walters is a sign of how poor his tactics are and how fucking stubborn he is when he is 'in love' with a player (ie Cresswalters)

March, would you agree that in the absence of any plan B, and after spending £27m on strikers in the last year and a half, to have the functioning of the entire system resting on one out-of-his-depth workhorse is completely unacceptable? As is the lack of wide cover, having no full-backs on the books and the investment of £6m on a midfielder that's only been fit enough to start half a dozen games? Looks like mismanagement.

I can only imagine TP had earmarked Cahill to challenge Walters for the position and the signing didn't come off.
I can think of no other excuse.

Crikey, March, if the answer was 32-year-old Tim '2 goals in the last 2 seasons' Cahill, I'm confused as to what the question is!

Walter's form is horrible.
There has to be a point where trying hard is not enough.
Two of our best attacking options didn't get on the pitch today. If Walter's main role is to fill in defensively surely we should play an extra real midfielder.
Playing out of form players out of position is getting boring.

Sad thing is there will always be a walters/cresswell/mama type of player on the field under pulis, and we all know it

I've said it on other threads and I'll say it again.....
Walters is continually picked by Pulis because he does the job that he is asked to do. Its as simple as that like it or lump it. I'm sure if he didn't track back and help out the midfield and close down etc (like Jerome/Fuller/Kitson/Tuncay don't/didn't) then he would get dropped. Pulis see's him doing the job he's asked to do and rightly or wrongly keeps picking him for his teamwork.

Cabaye, Tiote, ben Arfa and Gutierrez didn't seem bothered at all by Walters' closing down efforts and I can't imagine any of our other striking options would have been less effective going forward. If we are playing Walters simply for defensive duties then why not play the extra midfielder.
