We are currently on 82 shots on target in the league this season.
The question is, can we reach the 100 mark with 5 games to go? ;D

Very interesting indeed, that article was from January though apparently, I'd be interested to see the up to date stats now. I got the 82 shots on target stat from here if anyone was wondering: www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11662_2705370,00.html

Irrelevant.
Getting the ball into the zone of maximum opportunity is much more important and we will top that statistic by a country mile.

Not a fucking chance.
But we could get 15 points with 5 shots on target......

Irrelevant. Getting the ball into the zone of maximum opportunity is much more important and we will top that statistic by a country mile. We may get it into the zone you allude to, March. But, when all's said and done, we don't actually maximise many opportunities that result when in said zone, do we?

Has anyone got the stats for shots on target to goals scored ratio? I think ours will probably be in the top 5 or 6 in the league.

A certain percentage of opportunities will result in goals, especially when you have the tallest players on the pitch. There will soon be very few goals scored in open play in world football - it is inefficient.

How come we're the LOWEST scorers in League? Perhaps it isn't the most efficient form of football? Are you on a wind up or just a clueless buffoon? It's a fine line.

Charles Hughes is now 82 years old and England never won a competition during his era. The 1 pass, 2 pass and 3 hoof tactic as employed by our glorious leader was devised in the 1950's by Charles Reep who was an ex RAF officer! If that really is the most important tactic then why aren't we top of the table and in the Champions league semi's? The current world champions are Spain and the team with the most world cup wins is Brazil - neither known for employing hoofball! I can only assume that you are a wind up merchant or a bit clueless.
Pulis is a good organiser - team drilled to drop into a bank of 4 and a bank of 5 as soon as the opposition face us - and a good motivator ( so long as your face fits ) because his teams do work 'ard. But let's be honest we are in open play the worst coached team in the league with regard to our attacking play. Movement and support is non existant. Technically, Pennant and Crouch aside, we are pretty embarrassing and the tactics employed are the most basic ones available. We are doing well so far as the most important statistic is concerned - mid table - but this season the majority of the games have been tedious affairs with little imagination or drive in the attacking end of the field and the only memorable moment was due to Crouch's individual ability. So will we hit 100 shots? Well if we have had an average of 3 shots a game so far that isn't going to change because Mr Pulis will never change. He's been a massive success but he also represents a dead end for the club and I certainly wouldn't want to follow on from his tenure because he has left little for a more evolved manger to work with. So it's Alex McLeish as our next manager then........
