Big sale on, I know they do every year but the firesale seemed to have started early this year
150th anniversary and all that, perhaps they wouldnt design us a special kit so we have ended the agreement?
Am sure a plethora of manufacturers would jump at the chance for the exposure we get nowadays.
Would be a shame, I love Adidas gear - have a wardrobe full of trainers, jackets, jumpers, drill tops - its been ace having the Potters in it too!
Cant see an identikit from the catalogue going down too well with supporters next season - it should be special
Not too arsed about them playing in the original colours (Blue/Black is it? Or Blue/Purple?) - thats been done by others so is so last year, but would like a straight forward red and white striped shirt similar to the 70s long sleeve tops you can get from Toffs.com or the 40/50s shirts with the V neck you can buy - something retro for me would be fantastic with a special commemorative badge.
Cant wait for the celebration game against Barcelona on a wet windy Tuesday night to take place, that will shut the morons on forums and newspaper comments sections up (Guardian online readers will understand that!)
* The Barca game is made up in my head. They should make it happen though!

I hope we are still Addidas. They make the best looking strips - with the exception of Swanseas.

My priority for a kit is one that looks good. For one season and use you'll get out of it (match days), the quality is more than sufficient (for me). After the season then I start wearing them for actually playing football.

5 stripes on the front, 5 stripes on the back and stripes on the sleeves; all stripes of equal width. White collar and cuffs. And the red is brighter red than that used by Sunderland, Soton, etc.
How difficult can it be?

Should have them walking out in the original stoke shirt. that would be great and funny at the same time. let them wear the names of famous stokies throughout the years too, i'm sure if man united can have nicknames on their shirts we could do that.

This would be ok if all shirts were the same size March, I doubt it would be possible to have the same size strips on a XXL shirts and the XS shirts and still have the five front and back. I would hate to have the Newcastle format with the limited strips and then the plain side panels. Think it looks nasty. I just think we should go for the original founder colours and a much smaller Britannia logo positioned differently (maybe on the oposite side of the chest to where the club emblem is) for the one year.

StokieMatt - Your profile says you are currently 21 years, 11 months.
So your age is 21, but you are 11 months into your 22nd year.
Stoke City Founded 1863 - don't know what month - but lets say June as it is in the middle.
So Stoke City would currently be 148 Years and 10 Months old - in its 149th Year.
By August 2012 SCFC would be 149 Years and 2 Months old - in its 150th Year.

Matt is right. If we were formed in 1863, then strictly speaking our 150th season would be 2013/2014. And we'd celebrate with a traditional Stoke Ramblers kit.

I haven't been keen on either of Adidas' kits so far, so I am not holding my breath about next season's offering. As march4 states, what's so difficult about red and white stripes? I don't want red shoulders or broad stripes or pinstripes, just simple, regular stripes with white collar and cuffs. I notice that nobody has messed about too much with Sunderland's stripes over the years, and their kit does look classy compared to ours IMHO.
As for the original kit as some kind of retro effort, that would be problematic. Thin red and blue hoops with white shorts would be too much of a departure for the home kit, while it is too red-based for the away. The thin blue and black hoops might work for the latter, but that kit was not introduced until the 1870s. How retro should it be?

my money is on the club not listening to what the fans want, sticking with the usual red and white strip. But then bring out a shit quality jumper or tshirt in the club shop that says 150 years in an american football style font. Then charge over the odds for it.

isn't the britannia shirt sponsor ship up for that season aswell? so could be new sponsor?
I'm more than happy with adidas and have bought most of the training wear as a result (I pay a few quid more for a stoke badge on an adidas product but its worth it for the banter it generates out and about now I don't live in Stoke)

Will that affect us?
or should we expect a mass spending spree next year by all clubs with owners with a bit of cash handy?

Stoke should get on the phone to Asics and beg them to make our kits again. Early 90s Asics kits the best we've ever had in my opinion.

What about Lincoln City's home kit for his year? Your winky thing suggests a dose of irony in your suggestion. Which is about right - it's bloody awful. Whatever Lincoln, or Southampton, or SheffU or even bloody Brentford or Exeter do is one thing, but Sunderland and Stoke* were the originals and therefore should guard the tradition more closely. *technically us but Sunderland stole them off us in the year we were dumped out of the league in 1890 or so - and upon re-entry we weren't allowed our stripes because the rules then were only one club in the league was allowed a particular pattern and colour combination.

Okay so March meant of equal width not the same width. Equal width on each individual size of shirt is entirely correct. Even if you're a fat bastard, or a skinny fucker.

We are getting a bespoke Adidas shirt next season and not one out a catalogue. U can either trust me hear or not but, dad had go to a charity dinner who happen to have peter scholes there. I don't think they are doing anything for 150 th coz thaats next season. But I'm sure there are some stories on here who are never happy with the kits. There are some inevitable truths. We will always have a sponsor! We are never going to sell same number as Chelsea so Adidas arnt going to make a bespoke shirt straight away. My brother who works for Adidas did explain the 3 levels but I forgot. We could go with a crap make like burrada or be patient and stick with Adidas. Forgive me for any bad grammar or spelling it 4am and I'm just off to work
