Spurs would be the danger for me. King is done I reckon now, Dawson is injury prone. I think they'll be shopping heavily for centre halves in the Summer.

I think the apparent interest in the lad from Ajax shows that there is a good chance that Huth will go. Is all down to the player in the end and the fact that he hasn't penned a new deal speaks volumes. No doubt the usual moaners will blame the club but it seems he may well want to leave and if that is the case there is little or nothing they can do. There was obviously some issue in the Summer with him being dropped before the window closed and fear we may see the end of him soon.

I wish he'd hurry up and sign the f****r .... www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Huth-urged-stay-Potters-legend/story-15933907-detail/story.htmlANDY Wilkinson has urged Robert Huth to put pen to paper on a new contract by telling him: "You can be a Stoke City legend".
"I've told him to get his contract signed," Wilkinson said. "He can stay here and be a legend... if he's not already.
"He's a top-class player. Even in training, if there's a 50-50, he's the one person you wouldn't want to go in with – not that I'd pull out. From a fans' point of view, he is everything Stoke City is."
" Van Persie won't like coming up against Huthy. I get a buzz off him just in training. He's a great lad and an unbelievable player. He's strong, powerful and got a massive presence."

Lets get a chant going tomorrow -
Huth, Huth, sign on the line. ....... we want you next season / you're our favourite Stokie- to the SJW jingle
I'm sure anyone can think of something better but it would be good if he got the message from the fans.
We need him

It's the kind of article we used to get ten years ago when we had a good player that was about to leave.

If he doesn't want to stay then there's nothing we can do but try and get as much money as we can for him this summer. I'll be gutted to see him leave though.

True march but he would fit in the dug out as Walters understudy without banging his head

even with only 1 year on his contract he is worth £10m inho I dont care about new signings if we fail to tie Huth down No 1 priority this summer

even with only 1 year on his contract he is worth £10m inho I dont care about new signings if we fail to tie Huth down No 1 priority this summer How much did Bolton get for Cahill, though? It's a tricky one. People like Ashley Young, Gareth Barry and N'Zogbia have gone for £10m+ in the final year of their deal, but centre-halves maybe don't get those kind of price tags as a general rule? And if he did force the issue, we would have a gun to our heads. Not sure Sunderland would have enough pull to turn his head though, depending on ££££ obviously.

Huth out and replaced with Scott Dann.
We get a centre half pairing that is both experienced and young enough and we get a good blend of rough and composed.
Not saying i want it to happen but if the worst happens then we have a realistic enough scenario that could work out decent for us.

Incredible lack of knowledge but it doesn't surprise me on there. Most of them have got their heads stuck that far up their own arses I'm surprised they see any games at all.

It's called painting yourself into a corner. Lot's of people do it on here quite regularly... Basically, they are so up themselves on there that they have spent the last four seasons branding our football club and supporters as neanderthal thugs which, apparently, is epitomised by players like Shawcross and Huth. They now can't really say anything else about him.

Looks like the Sunderland link is an Alan Nixon story twitter.com/#!/reluctantnicko Sunderland want him, but Stoke won't give him up easyCan't really see what'd be in it for Huth to go there unless they were giving him a 10-grand-a-week pay rise - and would they be able to do that?

I don't want Huth to go but if he went to Sunderland it would be a pisser.
How many of them have been on here saying that Huth is everything that is detestable about Stoke??? I think all of our frequent Sunderland visitors subscribe to this theory.
It will, however, take a damn site more than 6m to get him and he is far too good for them anyway. He can and will do a lot better than Sunderland should he move from Stoke.

He is worth more than we paid for him even with 12 months left on his contract.
I actually think he will sign a new contract and will become the second highest paid player at the club in the process.

I hope you are right but i can see him departing tbh?
Only a matter of time before one of our " stars " departs and i fear that day is looming?
I agree about the destination of Sunderland though....fuck me

I also think that 1 or 2 of the crown jewels will depart soon and probably in the summer.
I think Begovic could be a pawn to raise some cash and if we could get Huth under contract, I still think we would be tempted to cash in on him.
Either way, my main point was "why the fuck would he want to go to Sunderland?" He is way better than them and if he leaves, I reckon Tottenham, Liverpool or maybe even Arsenal beckons for Huth.
