uk.news.yahoo.com/expect-top-flight-female-coach-inside-10-years-110606217--soccer.htmlSanchez has always been a bit of a nutter...has he called this one right? If so any ideas on who might replace Tone in 10 years...The only female with any 'form' is Cheri Lunghi in 'The Manageress'. I remember she managed a team who were contesting promotion.I know her team needed a win in the last game of the season...can't remember if they bottled it or did they win and she was carried shoulder high and dumped in the communial bath? Please jog my memory.

I would imagine that Hope Powell would be the most likely British female manager.

Maybe one day. But God knows what Sanchez is on to think it's remotely close to happening. Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, a football dressing room just wouldn't have it.
I can't see it in the next 50 years.....at least.

As a female, i love football, always have, always will. Raised into the game by a dad who lived and breathed it who happened to have 3 daughters!
A female coach needs to be far more involved that just a love of the game and a business acumen, far stronger men with those attributes have been sacked in a heartbeat.
Sadly i reckon we're a couple of decades away from this. We've only just accredited Sian Massey as a legitimate official!

Didn't Sanchez go off on a long sexist rant about female officials when he was in charge of Fulham?

The only places I can see this happening are in Scandinavia, Germany or the USA. This is where women's football is at it's peak, I don't know whether it's just this country but the more people make a fuss about women in the sport, the more difficult it is for them to make it as that's the main focus. Maybe it's different in other countries with the game being watched by more spectators and with it getting more airtime in places such as the USA.
If Sanchez is talking about England though, he's off his rocker.

Yep, that's who I was thinking of. Coleman, Sanchez, Newell... sort of interchangeable.
