I don't think Nash will leave, TP kicked up a fuss about having 3 goalkeepers in the squad. Unless somebody from the Academy will get a deal and stay on as number 3?
Delap will also stay

Delap probably will stay. But he's only in the team bacause of his throw, and that hasn't worked for 2 years

TBH I awlays thought we were never Salif's first choice I remember he didn't sign untill December in 07/08 after he spent the previous season on loan with us, same again the other season when he signed a two year deal. I think he's always been looking for a bigger club.
But he's been a great servant for the club and I wish him the best of luck

Be sad to see Diao go, he was part of the transition of us moving up. We went from Brammer to Diao and he was a real breath of fresh air. A player that could pass and tackle, bloody brilliant. Good luck Salif.

Sentiment aside its time to let Salif go. I'd imagine someone may have to console Pulis over this.

Top servant for our club. Played when called upon - and did that very well this season on quite a few occasions. Thank you Sal. Good luck.

I nearly put my back out cheering when I heard the news. We shouldnt have resigned him 2 seasons ago as he was clearly a yard off the pace then.

Sad to see him leave, thought he would be here for a long time in a coaching capacity but I suppose we cant keep giving him a players contract when he is not required. Been a great servant to this club ever since he arrived, including some top performances this season. Thanks Salif and good luck in the future!

Never really liked Diao being in the first team since we got promoted but when called upon he's been ok I suppose, not sad to see him leave, we want younger and better players.

Salif was crucial when we needed him most, tbh he's only really been asked to fill in since then - big thanks for all he's done for us, hope he gets fixed up with a club and be glad to see him back once he's got his badges.

Sad to see him go but it happens to every player eventually. He's done us a great job over the years.
Good luck Salif.

Salif goes into the category of players who will always be remembered fondly by me for doing their part in a wonderful period in our history .
Along with Lawrence ,Beattie, Cresswell , Dicko, Pugh ,Griffin, Simmo ,Faye ....

Thank god he's turned down the coaching role! I'd dread to think what he would coach under 21s!! Hopefully he will take mama and Rory with him! Thanks for your efforts Salif but let's face it other than the loan period you've pinched a living from us

Thanks for your efforts Salif but let's face it other than the loan period you've pinched a living from us He's not turned it down. He wants to do it and carry on playing. The stories about the School of Excellence and Salif's new contract coming out on the same day are not coincidences.

There's time yet I'll feel more comforted when the summer window closes, we've been here before with the 'coaching role' all that led to was a regular yellow card sweep when he played ;D Good servant, couple of you tube clips of excellence....thanks Diao

The time is right for him to leave. We need to free the members of the squad who simply are not going to play many matches. This valuable cash can be spent on recruiting fewer higher quality players. Preferably those who are productive in midfield, thus creating more chances for our forward players. Let's face it, waiting for an attempt on goal for our forwards at the moment is a bit like waiting for a bus on a Sunday in the Staffordshire Moorlands. It must be really frustrating for Crouch, Jerome, etc at the moment. Once Salif leaves, he does so with my best wishes as do most who have played for our famous club.

Anyone know of any up and coming 32 year olds that Tone could replace him with?

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if we enter that, SL. But that seems to be for under-19s. So it'll be interesting to see what, specifically, this U-21 team will be up to beyond any involvement in that I'm sure I got a press release a while back saying they're introducing an Under-21 version of the NextGen Series. I might have imagined that, though! You're right
