Maybe. Downing struck it well & it was one of those pure reflex saves or a goal. The force wasn't with us!!

Don't think it was as easy as some are making out, struck well with a decent amount of power behind it, not an easy save to make.

In short NO. Downing thumped it with too much force. Lucky goal but very well taken.

Don't think it was as easy as some are making out, struck well with a decent amount of power behind it, not an easy save to make. centre of the goal from outside the box and nowhere near the corner. had it been a penalty struck there and the keeper gone the right way u would have expected him to save it so by that theory it was an easier save and he was at fault.

difficult save to make for me, the power was a bit too much and always moving away from him

Yes, he got a hand to it and should have done better. It was extremely well struck but Sorro could have done better IMO.

It was not an easy save by no means, but a premiership goalkeeper should be keeping those out.

Personally I think that 'shot stopping' is where Bego has the edge over Tommy, better reflexes.

We genuinely have two world class keepers at the club. Bego is one of the best young keepers in the world and Soro has made a hundred appearances for one of Europe's best international sides. The goalkeeper position is not an issue!

I'm not sure how anyone thinks he can be at fault for either goal?
The first one was as a result of us falling asleep in midfield and an absolute quality finish from that horrible, goofy bastard.
The second was a freak after the ball got stuck under Gerrard's feet, it then popping out to Downing who leathered it from 15 yards.
I doubt any keeper would have saved either shot.

Though that really is a 'may'because it was a well hit shot and at least a foot away from Sorro's hand. Beggo just has the ability to pull off some absolutely fantastic saves imo.

Even if he got a hand to it, which a keeper with extremely good reflexes may well have done, he still has to palm it round the post, which is almost impossible with that amount of power hit almost in the middle of the goal.
