BBC Sean Costello on Twitter: "When was there ever a debate over Premier League vs La Liga? La Liga always technically better. They have Messi & they don't have Stoke."
Who can manage a response to that without the phrase 'tippy-tappy' in it?

La Liga is a waste of time. There are only 2 teams who ever have a chance of winning the league. It's no more a good league than the SPL.
Seriously, my idea of a good league is a genuinely competitive one, not one with two world class teams and everyone else after third place.

Love it.
Maybe I've been watching our "anti-football" for too long, but the Barca game bored me the other night, I switched over after 25 mins.

Barca & Madrid,pretty football. Stoke,workmanlike.
Barca & Madrid cheating cunts. Stoke, more honest than all the top teams put together.
Oh, and you can throw Arsenal in with Barca & Madrid.

The Premier League is the better league. If you have matches betwee who ever finished top in the PL and who ever finished top in La Liga and so on and so on for all the teams the Premier league will win the most matches

Barcelona play great football, we all know that. But, when the chips are down, i.e. losing once in a while they(Spanish/Argies) revert to the dirty cheating bastards which is inbred in them all deep down. Remember the Valencia game and the tackle/stamp on Whitehead and the awfull timewasting at the Britannia. Rant over

What a nobody, just trying to create a bit of publicity for himself.....
and what does that say about the 11 teams who are below us in this league, and the rest of the 72!

Seriously, my idea of a good league is a genuinely competitive one, not one with two world class teams and everyone else after third place. I know statistics aren't infalliable but it is interesting that - In the last 42 years of La Liga, 2 teams (Real Madrid (17) and Barcelona (13)) have won the majority. However, in the other 12 yars, it has been won by 5 other teams, 4 of them twice and once by the other one. In the past 19 years of the Prem, it has been won 12 times by one club (MU), three times by each of Arsenal and Chelsea and once by an outside Blackburn. So there are more than 2 teams who can and have won La Liga. It is the Prem that would seem to be the private preserve of one club with infrequent incursions by other top clubs. Note no Man City (yet), no Liverpool, no Spurs. Hardly an advert for diverse footballing philosophies?

Point taken - as the Prem has been going for 19 years only, the comparative figures for La Liga are Barca 9 RM 6 and 3 others have won remaining 4 years - merely trying to show that there are more than 2 who can and have won La Liga

Big debating point this..
My personal opinion is that although the Premier League is more entertaining I think La Liga has more quality overall and more technically skillled players.
I'm no expert on La Liga admittedly so I can only go off what i've seen watching Stoke in the Prem and I have to say there are some very average sides in the Premier League. Norwich last week were truly awful. Swansea the week before created the subtotal of zero. Would Malaga, Atletico Madrid, Espanyol etc... be any better? I think they would.
