Agreed would have been amazing if Jerome finished it.

On the other hand, Jerome's finishing today was woeful.

Badly needed a left foot there or a better first touch.

Was a great ball however the old Kenwyne traits were still there... on the pitch for only 10 minutes but still walking around and not preasurising their midfield imho

Would you give it a rest? Jones won more in the air than either Walters or crouch. He also was part of the most dynamic forward line I've seen stoke come out with in ages. We've all been moaning for pace, attacking intent and good balls through, we do it and you still bitch

Things look like they may happen. I know they both have their faults but there is so much more pace and movement up front when they are on.

We seem to forget to close down and rely on the centre halfs and their woeful shooting to see us through. I can forgive those players who have played for 90 mins but when I see their midfielders standing on the ball and picking off forward passes, whilst Kenwyne with fresh legs is walking around 10 paces behind them, I dont care how many he's winning in the air. Very happy with the result, and think we played some of the best passing football I've seen this season (thanks in no small part to having the width and therefore space that 2 recognised wingers provide) but our echic is to close down quickly and put pressure on sides, and its frustrating to see players with fresh legs not doing this... at a time when we're trying to see out a win.

Those last 15 mins we had 11 behind the ball. I wouldn't want my centre forward chasing passes across the back, totally futile. No wnder so many people love Walters ???

Not sure which post you're reading pal.. where do I mention chasing across the back. They were picking long passes and spreading it from midfield. I'm not suggesting he plays centre half, just saying that he should be putting pressure on their midfield

We came under massive pressure at the end because we defended on the edge of the 18 yard box. Hardly Kenwyne's fault ffs

I thought Kenwynne did well - he helped revitalise the attack which is what the substitutions were supposed to do. He does go down too easily but the Norwich defence were pretty combative and to be fair our forwards, not just Kenwynne were looking for free kicks a bit too much.
His pass to Cam and Jon Walters pass to Deano in the first half were both absolute top drawer and if the chances had been taken it would been hailed as a top display.

several decent touches, but sorry, total lack of effort from KJ in a last 10 mins backs to the wall situation.
Simply stood still and let Whitbread in front of him to nick it. noone is better than Fuller for closing a game down.

Pulis was going mental at Jones for not putting their players under pressure. Not a lot he could do though, the Norwich defenders were just passing it around him.

Do you mean those four Norwich defenders passed it round him and Kenwyne didn't go chasing after them like a fuckwit??? I really do despair at times ???

He is a better player from the start, not very effective from the bench. Still think we look a lot more dangerous with KJ on the field, yes he has a tendency to amble at times but, he always attacks the ball where it matters most, inside 18yds ( see Valencia ). He doesn't put everything away granted ( if he did he wouldn't be playing for us ), what he does do is pressurize defenders on there own 6 yd line, which we rarely do through Messrs Walters & Crouch. As our attacking game is pretty much based on chuck it under there bar & get em rattled until they crack he is probably our best bet upfront.
As for Jerome, he has got to be worth a couple of starts. over Walters. We will see the best of neither player without a run of starts, cameo appearances will not bear fruit imho?

The pair completely changed the game when they came on, the change in formation put us under pressure not Kenny or Jerome.

Somebody needs a bollocking for our defensive formation at the end. Sitting in the South Stand I couldn't believe the lack of shape when with about 5 minutes to go & the ball in their half we had:- Kenwyne - chasing 3 defenders around Ethers & Pennant - both playing left midfield Deano & Whelan - Cage Right midfield - empty Defensive line up of Wilson, Huth, Shawcross, Shotton & Jerome Unbelievable Jeff!

Nowt wrong with KJ when he came on. He did well. Very well in fact.
We looked so much better with the front two that finished the game but for me, Jerome isn't a footballer. He is a runner. Strong as a bull and very quick but Ricardo Fuller he aint.
Wonder if Jerome will be banished to the sidelines and ousted completely having turned away from goal when seemingly clean through. Ric did something similar v Blackpool last season and has barely been seen since.
I wonder if Pulis will be consistent in his holding of a grudge????

Seems as plausible as any other stupid reason as to why he is currently our 5th choice striker Phil.
Pulis publicly criticised Ric in his post match interview after that Blackpool game and he has started only 1 league match since that game!
