Don't get so sensitive - I was talking about the Pullis out crowd not those who are constructively making arguments for improvements - like not playing Marc Wilson at left back etc etc.

Putting it like that yeah it does seem like I am a complete an utter cock and if someone said to me 6 years ago we would be in this position I would be over the moon. Premiership or not, the only thing I'm going on is how excited I am every weekend, and it's a lot less than it was 8 years ago. I can completely understand how you can see comments like that a load of toss, but I am honestly not enjoying supporting us as much as I was before. I grew up in London with United, Arsenal and Chelsea fans all around me but I was so proud to be supporting Stoke regardless of the fact we were in Division 2 (at the time) and used to wear my kit everywhere and chant Stoke songs when drunk walking through Leicester Square. Nowadays I just feel so apathetic about Stoke and I don't see any other reason for it than Pulis and they way he plays football. Thanks for the insults though, appreciated. Fully understand your feelings matey.. You're not on your own.

"I couldn't give a shit if we were in League 1 as long as I was being entertained and enjoying watching us play" I have read some piss poor things on here over the last few weeks but that is utter utter absolute fucking dog shit Why? I would love to be on cloud 9 loving life, but the fact is I'm not and I find watching us play boring and predictable and it's taken all the enthusiasm out of me to the point where being in the Prem isn't that important and I just wanna be excited every Saturday morning. I'm not questioning or playing down Pulis' achievements, it's just the way he sets his teams up and plays football is of no real interest to me. That said, when we play like last night with attacking intent, pace and passion I have no problem at all, it's just a shame that only happens 3-4 times a season. That's pretty much exactly where I am.

I honestly thought Pulis had finally figured out a decent system that combined, pace, decent movement and a fair degree of entertainment at the back end of last season, we beat Arsenal 3-1, battered Newcastle 4-0 and dismantled Bolton 5-0 which was one of the greatest days of my life even though I didn't go to Wembley. We had two pacey wingers, the centre of midfield wasn't akin to Barcelona I admit but it did it's job well and actually supplied the wingers and forwards with the ball, Marc Wilson was at LB which I didn't like but that was the only downside. During that period we were what's come to be known as "classic Stoke City" we were in the faces of the opposition, the crowd was hostile and you sensed the team had a special bond between them in that they wanted to give their all for this football club, even though we lost the cup final I looked forward to the start of this season more than I've ever looked forward to any previously, because I thought Pulis had finally matured and created an attacking yet solid team that was a joy to watch. However it was just a honeymoon period, fast forward a few months and we've got a Woodgate at right-back, A Delap still shuffling around the midfield, Walters playing absolutely every game even though he needs at least 3 games rest, Cameron Jerome, Ricardo Fuller + by the looks of it Diego Arismendi and Kenwyne Jones rotting away on the bench and in the reserves even though we know for sure at least 3 of those would have a hugely positive impact on the way we play, Ryan Shotton starting on the right instead of Jermaine Pennant, we were told it was because of a "Breach of club discipline" by Jermaine, not to worry we all thought, it'll be sad to lose Jermaine but we have January approaching and Ben Marshall looking very promising. January comes and goes, we finish the window with a grand total of ZERO new signings, and we sell our most promising young prospect for a while to Leicester, we've also lost at home this season to such superpowers as Newcastle, QPR and West Bromwich Albion, i'll repeat that, WE LOST AT FUCKING HOME TO FUCKING WEST FUCKING BROMWICH FUCKING ALBION, ahem, the players look jaded and disinterested, the fans are getting increasingly fucked off and thus quieter, the football is getting more predictable and dismal with each passing game, teams have been lining up against us without strikers and still winning for fucks sake. Bolton also somehow returned the 5-0 battering we gave them, which is just unforgivable. So to summarise in the space of a few months Pulis has turned Stoke City FC from a team that looked like genuine top 10 premiership material, to a dismal, disjointed side with out-of position ageing players and has made watching Stoke a chore, and a sodding expensive one this season at that. Plus there's no guarantee that we'll actually stay up given how we've been playing recently. I'd like a change at the end of the season, I await the absolute morons to wade in with their Curbishley argument but I don't care, I want to see Stoke perform to the standard we know they can achieve, I want to see younger players being utilised, I want to us to be a club who signs players from abroad and while Pulis is in charge this just won't happen, it'll be the same square pegs in round holes nonsense + a player fallout every season. Sums up the situation pretty well except I don't agree that Pulis should be removed yet. However, questioning the things highlighted above is not crime and supporters have genuine concerns. The Cup Final was a turning point when Pulis was struck by FEAR yet again and it culminated in a truly dreadful home performance against Wigan. That set the pattern for what we have seen this season when we have ridden our luck so many times and somehow managed to put 30 points on the board. Our Europa campaign has been fun been most of that has been against Championship-level and worse opposition. And to not even fill the bench against Valencia when only 1 goal down is a disgrace to the proud name of Stoke City.

the hardest thing to do in fthe world of football is to transform a team of battlers who have come from their lowest point in history into a free flowing nice on the eye pass the opposition to death team..... i reckon.. the sort of transition most of us would like to see in a short space of time would end up in relegation, look at west brom, blackpool, hull and possibly this seasons promoted teams...????? sack the manager sack the manager then everything will be alright.....there were big campaigns in the late 1960s to sack Waddo which came to no avail and he went on to put together one of the best footballing teams we ever had. i dont know but i wonder if all these people slagging TP off now were part of the 8/9000 season ticket holders from 6 or 7 seven years ago, or are they some of the jonny cum latelys who let their kids run round sot with lpool chelsea or shit tops on???? if this was years ago like in the 1st world war tossers like this who have no stomach for a fight would be taken out and have a bayonet put where they dont like it up them.... WE ARE THE POTTERS THE MIDLANDS WE RULE

WE ARE THE POTTERS THE MIDLANDS WE RULE I don't think most people are asking for a transformation. I think they accept how TP likes to play and that will never be in the mould of Arsenal/Barcelona. What they are looking for is more of what we delivered at the end of last season (and Man Utd/Chelsea at home earlier this season). I don't accept this argument that the Europa League has affected our Premier League form. The reason we are struggling in the Prem is solely down to TP. His team selection and tactics. Fentown Mackay got it right in my opinion, especially when he referred to us a 'dismal, disjointed side'. I think that is exactly what we have looked like since Sept/Oct of this season and possibly even more so since the turn of the year.

Just got back from Valencia, and felt I had to add my 2 penneth to this board, the fact is for years I've been travelling miles to watch stoke lose away at exeter, torquay, swansea, southend....... I never had Valencia on my list!!
Don't get me wrong, when I got told the squad in Plaza de la Raina, I felt let down, but the team that went out on Thursday night did me proud, and showed me we have got to the stage where we have a squad capable of putting out a "2nd" string that can challenge he top teams in Europe. Added to that TP can play a formation that is contrary to what everyone believes is integral to his DNA
The bottom line is that I had a great time in Spain for the last few days, followed by watching a really enjoyable match (In which we had our chances don't forget) and that is all down to TP being pig headed enough to pick up points in his own way and focusing on the result!

blimey lads, what a thread. Im not sure Pulis was struck down with fear in the final so much as crippled by lack of options due to tiredness and injury. Now we have a second string that can compete away in Spain when players are rested/ injured. Big leaps forward.

H Largely the same team that he has played throughout the Europa competition? Really went for it didn't he? He's a first class bottler knowing full well now that had he not twatted around with our best centre half pairing to accomodate Woodgate and Upson earlier on in the season he wouldn't be shitting himself now over Swansea at home. He's royally fucked it by being a prat, but hey ho look where we have come from FA Cup final blah blah repeat to fade. H

Harsh summary of the performance RAF. Kenwyne should have had a hattrick and the keeper made a good save from a rasping shot of KJ's. We could and should have had a penalty and if not a penalty a definite free kick which would have surely meant they wouldn't have scored. For an hour, we were excellent. After that we run out of steam and no subs available cost us the chance to keep going for the full 90 minutes. EDIT - RAF - you were absolutely trollied pre-match as well by the way whilst MCF seemed remarkably sober! Can't knock the performance in my book but you can knock the manager for selling his own players and supporters short with the lack of options on the bench. Swansea is massive for TP. His squad selection on Thursday, for me, was unforgivable in what surely has to be one of the biggest games in the club's history.
