From a PR point of view very valuable indeed no doubt, but with financial perspective, gate receipts, TV rights and UEFA payments etc does anyone have any idea of how much this has brought into the club?

From what I remember, not much. I doubt it even covers all the expenses, and appearance bonuses etc.

Without spending the rest of he day doing meticulous research I would guess the total must between £2million - £3 million if not more. You can never put a definitive figure on this because of extra merchandise sales and possible advertising deals negotiated in the future off the back of our run in the Europa league. The bottom line is that Stoke City is now on the map through out Europe and Africa. That I can vouch for personally due to a recent trip to Senegal and Gambia where the only football shirts were those of Stoke City (and no I'm not exaggerating) ...they were everywhere , especially in the Gambia. Many I suspect were left behind by the tourists , but none the less they were by far the most popular by the local lads.
I suppose the next task is to capitalise on all this new found fame in terms of ££££££££ by whatever innovative method we can , as it may be some timetime before the European bus is seen parked 'Up Hanley Duck' . Perhaps we should have done more to attract Valencia fans over here for starters .....! I could have done a better job than the 58 that reportedly came , by standing in Valencia town square with a bill board . That is not just the fault of the club , but also perhaps our local tourist information service. More effort and planning by local business should have been explored and exploited. It has all been however a big learning curve which everyone associated with the club has learned from and hopefully benefitted.
No longer should we worry about our profile in relation to attracting top players ,as this all comes down to what we are prepared to pay them in wages. It is NOT about little Stoke ...who are they...?
Personally , I'd like to see us explore the African continent more in our scouting network as there are many excellent players out there yet to be discovered. West Africa in particular is football crazy , and I have mentioned earlier Stoke City is up there with the best.
Long may it continue.

Each team taking part this term will collect a €640,000 participation bonus together with a match bonus of €60,000 for every match played in the group stage. They can add to this total minimum amount of €1m through a series of performance-related rewards, starting with €140,000 per win and €70,000 per draw in their group games.
Progress beyond that point will trigger further bonus payments worth: €200,000 for reaching the round of 32,
2 draws, 3 wins and 1 loss in the group stage = €560,0006 Match bonuses = €360,000 €640,000 for reaching the group stage €200,000 for reaching last 32 = €1,760,000
That's just the money off uefa, not adding on top what money we will have received from being on the tv + gate receipts.

It's the prestige of having played in Europe, putting Stoke on the European football map, that is of more value than any financial rewards.
The downside is that the adventure ended in something of a damp squib. No matter what gloss some people put on it Pulis had given this game up before leaving Stoke.

Peter Coates said at the end of last season that it wasn't a financially attractive proposition in itself, but it was valuable to the club in other ways such as raising the club's profile, attracting new players, etc.

I completely agree with you saying Pulis had pretty much given the game up but his long term vision may be something along the lines of if we get relegated then we'll probably never see European football again for maybe another 30-50 years at least. If we stay in the prem, then every season we will have a chance (admittedly a small chance) of making it again. What I'm hoping now is we will start seeing Pulis less worried about resting players and go out into games with a very strong Stoke team. The constant rotation of almost all positions in the team is not good for consistency and, although I see us as having a very strong squad for where we are, the rotating prevented the preferred eleven properly gelling (it may be argued that Pulis very rarely managed to field his preferred eleven due to the need to rest players). Hopefully now we might see the return of using both wingers and the strongest strike-force in every league game without rotating. This is all very wishful thinking though.

That's just the money off uefa, not adding on top what money we will have received from being on the tv + gate receipts. When you consider we bought 2 squad players (Palacios + Jerome) for over £10m, and a first teamer that pushed an £8m striker into a squad player, that's £18 spent on having a squad so we don't get fucked. I have no idea how much in merch we get, but financially the Europa league seems to be a complete waste for us. It's done wonders for our profile though, and given many fans memories for life.

You need to figure gate receipts into that. Plus any increase in player values based on their new founded European experience.

According to me: according to TP it might have cost us the Premier League status.

I heard on the radio today that each Premier League place is worth an additional £875,000 per position!
