Bringing all this back to a sensible debate, my thoughts are this, Before the game, I thought (like most) that we'd surrendered. Within 5 minutes I realised we were more than up for this. way better than the home leg. KING TONE KNOWS BEST! A massive 11 out of 10 for the fans, looked and sounded awesome, all over the stadium. You were a credit to SCFC. An unusual 10 out of 10 for Diao for being solid without being a liability at any point. 10 out of 10 for Fuller for commitment with so little pre-match fitness. 10 out of 10 for Arismendi for consistent effort and some moments of real skill. 10 out of 10 for Hut ;D for a bloody brow without a real flinch along with a good no nonsense all round performance. 10 out of 10 for Delap, solid, fair, enforcing and reassuring without his usual cause for concern. 10 out of 10 for Jerome for his tireless work rate and massive contribution to the game. 9 out of 10 for Woodgate for being un-noticeable for all the right reasons 9 out of 10 for Palacios for giving everything until his substitution 9 out of 10 for Sorro. Ace, but still the odd spill. 8 out of 10 for Jones, more up for it than any recent game but should of scored 2 to get us through to the last 16. 7 out of 10 for Collins, cost us the goal (but only with naivety, and made up for it with a 2nd half without error and stopped it becoming 2 - 0 9 out of 10 for Shotts for coming on to a big stage and keeping his head, only a couple of dodgy moments. 8 out of 10 for Pennant for giving it a go but didn't quite reach his potential. 0 out of 10 for the cheating diving petulant twaty greasy Spaniards. what a bunch of cunts. European football can fuck off. PROUD!

Certain cunts have nothing but bad things to say and say nothing when things are good, very sad. I welcome youre witty reply and threat of a ban And I agree with the fella who said I hope TP stays forever just to annoy certain people, wonderfully put. Say we go a good run of results in the league now and are back to 10th/9th, where will you be then? And say we beat Swansea partly thanks to giving tired players a rest tonight, suppose that'll have fuck all to do with Pulis then

Yes I'm paranoid about seeing my club send a reserve side to take on Valencia. Is that hard to understand? Accept return blessings. Absolutely not.. But when said reserve side conjure up a much better performance and result than 'experts' as yourself predict, then what..? I predicted what exactly and where precisely. I feared the worst but kept it to myself. I was delighted and proud with a very brave display. None of which incidentally has a damn thing to do with my view that the 15 man squad we sent did not give us the best chance of achieving anything. It's not really good to make up things and ignore the point to be fair is it? Have a different view by all means but that's not on.

Its about opinions Some of us think that the so-called reserve side put up a better show in Valencia....than the so called 1st team did at home. Time for a rethink on who really are our best players Agreed. I suspect some of our better footballers were undermined tonight by some proven incapables and a lack of a bench to make meaningful changes.

Woodgate's cross-field free kick was a sight to behold. Unbelievably rubbish. Collins...well....the only thing that I can say in his defence is that's he's simply not very good. Diao did OK tonight. There are fuckers in the fabled 'first team' that he's no worse than. On a positive note - Arismendi tonight. On a more negative note - Arismendi for the remainder of his Stoke career...without European football he's fooked. in my humble and worthless opinion squire, your posts tonight are 100% on the money. Cheers Bunny. As pleased as you can be after a defeat, I have taken quite a few plusses out of tonight. I am curious as to whether that performance was 'one in the eye' for Pulis, given his apparent surrender before KO (I'm not saying he was wrong, just that he does appear to have gone there with more than an eye on Swansea) - there are players that we saw tonight that actually over-performed, and when is the last time that we could say that about a Stoke side? Stubborn as he is, did he really want his life to become any more difficult, given that he doesn't seem to know his best XI as it stood, before tonight?? We've had our eyes opened a little I suppose; Arismendi in glimpses showed that 'at worst' he'd probably do a better job in CM than the tried & not-so-trusted incumbents; Jones, though appearing often lazy, is miles more mobile than Crouch; and Jerome, as we already knew, surely a more physical, pacey, aggressive, and goalscoring version of Walters? We can only dream.......

Firstly let me congratulate the original poster for such a worthy contribution and thank him for his views. I'm sure he is proud of that. Secondly let me just double check that you actually believe that an improvement in football equals relegation? Thirdly what the hell has that got to do with the complaint we have sent out a squad short handed to a game like that?

As someone who is relatively new to this messageboard: has it always been this divided? yes. but you have to remember the interweb networking (with the availibilty of cheap broadband etc) thing only really kicked off big time during pulis's first reign, then came boskamp and now it is sir tony pulis again. i suspect its always been this way though, even before internet and radio phone ins, its in a stokies dna to never forgive/instantly dislike ;D

As someone who is relatively new to this messageboard: has it always been this divided? There's always been pro & anti-Pulis. It's just more evenly divided now, possibly more anti-Pulis at the moment. The anti-Pulis feeling was a little more low key in the past, but the money spent last summer, together with an unspecified moving-on after the three-year plan came to an end, together with a general lack of attacking/entertaining football has brought things to a head. The fear of getting dragged into a relegation scrap has perhaps added a bit of urgency & irrationality to matters. Then again, you should have been here when Gudjon got sacked. ;D

Or is it just a convenient time to bring them into the arguement after they got their asses whupped last weekend?

The day after the useless git got the boot there was only about half a dozen of us applauding. Now that was a proper row!

I feel sorry for any Stokie who couldn't allow themselves to enjoy our adventure into Europa!! Thank you Mr Pulis for enabling me & my kids to experience European football for the first time in our lives!! There are enough of us out here who do appreciate what you have done for us!!

Disgrace Pulis, you should refund the fans. " we need the fans over there in an army of support " They turn up in the thousands expecting a decent display and have to put up with seen "Diao Woodgate Collins Delap" and then takes the piss even more and names 4 subs. More bullshit from the clueless liar. Made our club look an absolute joke tonight infront of millions. And Europe is not a tourney we will be in any time soon. We got lucky Man City had got in The Champions League. Boring negative tripe in the second half, and when he kept on Diao ahead of Palacios and Diego did it for me. If the tit didnt want be in the tourney why not start the young guns from round . This has to be one of the most pathetic posts i've ever had the misfortune to read on this board, yes i was amazed when i heard the travelling party but the players that took to the park last night did us proud and to write any other is just fookin pathetic.Pulis will be judged in the premiership not the Europa league and Sunday is massive so a little part of me understands why he did what he did last night. It was an absolutely fantastic experience over the last 48 hours for me and reading negative tripe like this when returning makes my blood boil

Personally, I think a lot of posters have jumped on the Milton bashing bangwagon.
He doesn't like Pulis and he's entitled to his opinion. All the shit that came after the OP was caused by other posters personally abusing him.
Admin should have removed this thread after the first page.

I'd have put most of the players at around 6 or 7 last night with the exception of Danny Collins who gets a 4. Whatever spin you want to put on it, TP had written the game off before we set foot in Spain. The team played well in spite of Pulis and with a few pegs in the right places, notably the two full backs and wingers, we may have got something out of the game last night.
