This is a tricky one. A lot of changes would need to be made from the game last night to keep players fresh and happy, and the fact that we are playing Valencia a few days later.
My team:
Begovic Shotton Shawcross Upson Collins Pennant Whitehead Whelan Jerome Jones Fuller
Bench: Nash,Wilkinson,Woodgate,Delap,Crouch,Etherington,Arismendi
Not included Huth as he is suspended (I am right aren't I?)

Bego
Shotts Shawcross Upson Wilko
Pennant Deano Whelan Jerome
Jones Fuller Subs: Tommy, Woodgate, Wilson, Palacios, Etherington, Walters, Crouch Bego needs a run in the team as number one because last night he looked really good but will only get better by playing. Crouch and Walters need to be dropped because that partnership has done feck all for two months now. Jerome deserves a start more than anybody else in the squad, but sadly I think it'll be on the wing and not up front where it should be.

Bego
Shotton Shawcross Upson Collins - I know, but Wilson needs a rest, we need him fully fit vs Swansea
Whelan Diao Whitehead
Fuller Jones Jerome
Some left field selections and TP would never play 4-3-3, but we could call it 4-5-1?
The team above should be able to beat Crawley, and allows some players a vital rest - also gives players a chance to force their way into the team to play at the Mestalla.

I completely forgot about Collins (it's not hard to, is it? ;D). Edited my team now. Collins in, Wilson out.

Our strongest 11. Bego Wilko Huth Shawcross Wilson Pennant Whitehead Whelan Jerome Jones Fuller Our strongest XI? Jones over Crouch? for me Jones has been really poor this season, very disapointing Ok lets get this straight. I think Jones is pretty useless, and he certainly isnt a better individual player than Crouch who is clearly a decent player. But the fact is, Crouch just doesnt seem to be having an impact at the minute. Not his fault, but the way we set up. At least with Jones we can get back to basics to an extent, and we all know Jones and Fuller was a decent enough partnership in the past. I cant help but feel Jones suits the system better than Crouch. If it was down to me it'd be Jerome and Fuller up top, but we all know the manager wont do that. "Strongest 11", yeh you're probably right, its not technically our strongest 11, but its the 11 that should get us back to basics whilst accomodating Jerome who looks fucking fantastic whenever hes on the park.

Not one team on here has Walters in it and yet he will start , making a mockery of Our managers constant assertions about the number of games we play .as USO blue eyed boy has needs no set at all despite last night having blown the games best two chances in 15 mins
The flair players jerome , fuller and the hugely unfortunate jones may get a go in some form and Carry the can for not performing so they can be dropped for Swansea when Walters and crouch will start as we turbo our spiral toward the big Bolton shoot out

Agree with jarhead on this one, no excuses for defeat. How many divisions are they below us? I don,t care if it,s the cup we should beat these! Cannot believe they are only 9/4 to win, tight arsed bookies again. They should be at least 4/1 if not 5/1.

In my opinion this is a must win.
We've lost 5 of our last 6 games and we really need something to get some confidence back into the team. Failure is not an option - if we lose this and then lose at the Mestalla on Thursday (which is fairly likely), that will be 6 games lost on the bounce and morale of the team and fans will be the lowest since we've been promoted.
We need to be confident going into our 2 home games against Swansea and Norwich. If we go into those games on the back of 6 game run of defeats, then I think we could really struggle with the pressure of those games.
I think this game will be a shot in the arm and we'll do them 3-0.

We won't get anything at Valencia so by this time next week we could be out of all the cup competitions and facing two legue games against teams with their tails up. we are fourth bottom in the form table and by March we could be fighting off being part of the relegation fight.

Many FA Cup games have turned around a club's season, or saved a Managers job. I think we are looking for any sort of a win here. We'd even take an own goal from a misplaced Crawley back pass. Or perhaps a corner that ricochets off five players before going into the net off the bar.
Just a change of luck would be good.

Agree a "must win" Else I think TP could be out on his arse. He won't be but there will be a lot of ill feeling from fans, to an extent we've never seen before. I would be one of those who will be pissed off, but no point in sacking the manager, the teams that do well tend to be those who stick with their manager through thick and thin, no knee jerk reactions. Anyway we'll win this. Probably a nervy start, but we'll get into it and win comfortably.
