To be fair to the bloke he is worn out and been overplayed, down to the manager at least he always gives 100% I don't get this 100% business Who exactly didn't give 100% in that team last night???? That's not the problem

I read the 'Fantastic' comment with a shake of the head
Whats that all about ? Why single him out for praise FFS
I thought he had a much better game last night but 'Fantastic' - He didnt trouble their keeper once which is surely at least part of the reason why he plays ?

Clearly better in the middle than out wide, but still doesn't look like the real himself at the moment! Needs a rest in my opinion! The same goes for Crouch too! Cj and KJ or Ric next game please!

Walters is selfish FUCKER.
Did you know he took Etherington's role in penalty taking? And Pulis didnt disagree to it? TOSSER.

Neither did most of the Valencia team. They had two shots on target. And your point is what ? That you shouldn't judge his performance based on the fact that he didn't have a shot on target. If you were to do so then by the same logic most of Valencia's team were wank.

He's been poor recently. I'm not singling him out last night, but he's played so many games... leave him out for a few games and he may come back in the form that we saw about this time last season. Otherwise, it's another few games of a lack of creativity and goalscoring opportunities.
A good work rate and "getting your head down and running" can only carry you so far i'm afraid.

Pulis must print off the distance covered stats, see Walters name at the top & then chuff over it. The amount of ground Walters covers has got to be the only reason he's in the team. He's a shadow of the player who scored in the FA cup semi final and against Chelsea. When he failed to keep the ball in near the half way line in the 2nd half, it summed up his performances over the last 6-8 games. Poor quality & running on empty. A blind man on a galloping horse can see that he's completely knackered. For me, Walters needs to be playing at the top of his game to get a start, as he hasn't justfied that he's got the quality to play week in, week out in the premier league. He's had more off days than good days in a Stoke shirt. He was flying in the second half of last season, now this season he's looks no better than a championship player. He was hardly pulling up trees for Ipswich before we signed him. This season he's offering no goal threat at all & he hasn't made things happen. He seems to have lost a yard of pace through tiredness & he didnt have that much to begin with. Jerome couldnt have done any better with the limited game time he's had and should be starting games. He's got pace to burn which we need alongside a less mobile, tall striker & with our midfield sitting so deep. Pace gives us that get-out ball once we have been incamped in our own half. Fuller has also looked dangerous & he's still got his pace and trickery. It should be Crouch for his height & finishing ability for the first spot up front, and Jerome (just ahead of Fuller) for the second spot up front. Walters would not be getting a start in any other premiership team exept ours. I couldn't believe it when Pulis singled out Walters for praise against Valencia, saying he was fantastic. Pulis needs to brush up on the definition of fantastic. Walters was fantastic against Bolton in FA cup semi final. Last night, Walters was a very very long way from fantastic.

If this thread had appeared a couple of months after we signed him I would have been straight in saying I fucking told you so. But it hasn't and I haven't. For me the truth is the bloke is fucking shagged out and there is no reason why Jerome or Fuller can't start instead of him. Well there is one reason, our manager, the 100% effort king. Well Tone, you can't get 100% out of a player who is fucked, give him a break.

Walters didn't look knackered last night until the last 20 when our entire team looked knackered from huffing and puffing against a side that were simply better than us.

In my opinion there's a massive difference between running and trying hard (which he did) and actually looking sharp and being on your toes (which he wasn't).

What a garbage post, its amazing that some of his own supporters can slag of the one player that contributes most to our team when the whole of the footballing world marvels at the guys energy levels.
MOM last night, when Crouch went off he took the long balls down and held them up for Pennant and Etherington better than Crouch did, as well as pressing their play. If you don't understand what Walters gives our team then you know f@ck all about football. If you must criticise anyone I would suggest that you concentrate on the crossing from the wingers which was woeful once again.

People know what he can give the team but he hasn't been "giving it" for quite some time now. His effort never diminishes but he end product does and that is what fatigue does to players.

Again, end product requires quality delivery which has been missing of late!

Again, end product requires quality delivery which has been missing of late! I'm talking about when he has the ball at his feet and how he anticipates play. You claim to know more about football than the rest of us but yet you don't see that his sharpness simply isn't there.

Ran around a lot but did very little. He didn't support Crouch and he didn't support the midfield so in return he was utter wank.
And I think he's been poor and looked shagged all season. How he stayed on the pitch on Thursday I'll never know.
