And in the game before, we totally destroyed Man City 4-0 when Hudson completely ran the midfield - Citeh were a top four side then too. One of the most enjoyable games I have ever been to. The goal where the Hood toyed with them in the mud just outside the penalty area before rolling the ball into the corner was worth a season ticket alone.

Next time anyone claims not to know what "playing the game the right way" means, they should be made to watch these vids.
Brilliant. Heartbreakingly brilliant.

;D With a manager who evolved the playing style over time from a defensive unit (Waddington Wall) to a footballing style that was respected worldwide too. Im sure we can see the same happening again. ??? It was 5th round cup day we were 2-0 down in this game with two minutes to go. I fucked off home gutted that we had seemingly missed the chance to go top. couldn't believe it when i got in and saw the table. I this another marker of where we've come from?javascript:add("%20;D") I was going to ask if it was this game, I remember it well, .... staying to the end ;D

Didn't Waddo spend the kind of money on players that put us the there with the 'big boys' of the day though?
Having a load of players sold from under him didn't stop a proportion of Stoke fans calling for his head though did it?
I think Pulis had us top of the league at 1 point....that was either a game or 2 in.
All needs putting into perspective.

And we did all of that with Ian Moores at centre forward!!!
I never get tired of watching the sublime genius of Alan Hudson. He was the best player in mud I've ever seen!!!! We were the best footballing side that season, without a doubt! I loved every minute of it.

You can judge a manager by how far HE has taken a side. If TP had taken over in 1975 then yes, he'd have taken us backwards.
As he didn't, I don't see pointing out that we've "come far" under him as a particularly stupid argument.
