One of the more surreal parts of yesterday was mentioning to the lads in the pub yesterday that I was going to get my mother a monthers day card as I had forgotten. Soon as word got out I was sent up Birthdays in castle for nine cards

Surely you don't want to have a negative impact on the profits of the gift and card companies, Loony? After all, they did come up with the idea of Mother's Day, Father's Day, Great Uncle's Day, Second Cousin Once Removed's pet hamster's Day, etc. etc.

What really grates my goat is how commercial it is. £5 for a card that ends up in the dust bin.

My 10 year old twins (boys) wouldn't let me in the kitchen this morning and just cooked a brilliant Sunday dinner, it brought tears to my eyes and that was emotion not horseradish. Perfect Mother's Day prez, thanks more than I can say boys xxxxxxx

As I do every year I've booked a table at lunchtime. She still doesn't like snooker though.

My 86 year old mum insisted on cooking lunch today, who was I to argue. Does that make me a bad person.
I did contribute a bottle of fizz though.
