Mmm....Lets all gloat and pour scorn over Port Vales demise.
Let's hope that the club goes into administration with shrieks of laughter and contempt.
The area is afterall a vibrant economic success story that no one can deny , and Port Vales contribution is miniscule and irrelevant...
We are what we are ....WE'RE BIG BOYS NOW ...FUCK EM' is the message.
The Potteries will benefit significantly by having just the one club to support....of that there is little doubt.
Makes you feel proud dun't eet...?
Well not me....! Some of the comments on here beggar belief. I am truly shocked and appalled . A fucking disgrace , is how I would describe things.

I love the fact that on the pitch at least, they're looking an outside bet for promotion and yet thanks to the mob rule mentality that's lead to the Starve 'Em Out boycotting season tickets etc, they're all the more likely to get 10 points deducted. Seems as though the more rational fans are starting to realise this, from what comments I;ve been reading on the Sentinel. Well done on killing your club, chumps. This exactly I said exactly the same thing when all these protests started. The Starve 'em Out campaign was just damaging their own club, and now it's in such a state financially that no one will want to take them on! As you said, the fans have killed their own club!

Just read this on OVF...
"Let’s make Burton on Tuesday a celebration of the life of Port Vale Football Club, not a wake or a funeral or an attack of those who have dropped us into this position.
Turn up at the Burton game and show people around the world how proud we are of our team and our lads. Let’s show people that we still care, that we are still proud of the club and our town. Let’s show people that Port Vale Football Club stands as an ambassador for our town and our area and we will not just give it up and slope off home. We will fight on.
Let’s show the players that that shirt still means something, that that shirt still needs to be worn with pride and that it is worth putting on that shirt and running out on that pitch and representing all of us one last time. One last go lads, everything you have got, one last time, 90 minutes of life as a Vale player left. **** or bust, hero or zero. Go out with a bang and not a whimper.
Use this game to thank them and the legend that is Micky Adams for everything they have done recently, against so much strife, unpleasantness and uncertainty and tell them that we are so proud that they are carrying on, lets get behind whoever takes a place on that pitch, regardless of opinion, past reputation or performance on the day. Because this might be the last time!
Lets show people what it means to be a fan of Vale, celebrate those 136 years of existence. Celebrate everything that has gone before, the good, the bad, and the ugly, show people that we although we have been here through thin and thinner, that we have suffered blow after blow we are still not beaten ,we are still not broken, we are still here and we still stand proudly behind Port Vale Football Club.
Show them that although we have been on knocked down and might be on the canvas right now we will get back on our feet and come out punching. It will be us who land the knock out blow. Use this day to shame all of those plastics and couldn’t give a damns in the town into thinking about what they could have been a part of, make them see what have been about, what we are about and what we will be about again.
Make everyone who has knocked us or laughed at us over the years understand that today we embrace all of the crap players, the terrible teams, the rubbish managers and the crazy chairman who have afflicted us. Why? Because all of that makes the few good times even better. Because all of those things are what Port Vale Football Club is about. Let’s show them what it means to call your self a Vale fan one last time.
Lets also think of all those people in the Tin Shed in the sky who aren’t able to stand with us on Tuesday, think about what the club meant to them and how they passed on that love for the club to you, think about how one day you want to pass that love on to the next generation so that they know what being a Vale fan is all about. I am sure they will be stood leaning on that crash barrier under the Sunday Sun board with their scarf’s and flasks of Bovril thinking "typical ****** Vale" - but they would still make the journey if they could! In fact I am sure they will be there with us. Sing that bit louder for them.
If anyone is unsure about going and is able to go they should make the trip, it could be your only chance to say goodbye to the team you love. It could be your last chance to wear the black and white and get behind the lads. Do whatever it takes to get to Burton, wear your shirts with pride and wave your scarf’s one last time. Tell anyone you meet where you are going and why. Tell them you are proud to support the lads!
And should this turn out to be the last time then lets celebrate all of that, lets support the lads and the manager, lets keep singing up to the final whistle and beyond because this club means something to each and every one of us, it has been part of our lives for so long, it is what makes us who were are, it is what makes us better than everyone else and it might not be there for much longer. Let’s make this day one of the greatest moments for this football club.
If it is to be the end lets go out on a high, all guns blazing giving it everything we have got and not for one minute forgetting that we are Port Vale Football Club and we will bounce back!
Yes, I did copy and paste that off a Darlington fan "
I almost feel pity. Almost. Basically, they're bemoaning the demise they are mainly responsible for.

BBC Radio Stoke understands that Port Vale players have not been paid today. It's also understood that the club are expected to make an announcement this afternoon.
And apparently a few Vale players have confirmed this on Twitter
Administration is looming ever closer it seems!

I'm sure that there'll be mass relief from the pygmie tribes of the upper Congo, through to the Yamnaya horsemen of the Eaurasian steppe. Who knows? Maybe the global hysteria caused by 6500 Vale turning up for one last moan will help end the debt crisis, and inspire science to find cures for cancer and aids.

It may be more than a 10 points deduction I think. Pompey were only deducted 10 points because the last time they went into admin it was in the prem, and thats a different set of rules and regulations. One club city he we come :-)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potteries_derbyThough the two clubs have been main rivals since as early as the 1880s, they have supported each other in times of need. Before regaining their Football League status in the early 20th century, the two clubs had a pact that meant Vale would not bid for membership, leaving Stoke more likely to succeed in their bid; Stoke would then support Vale in any future bids they made.[4] During times of deep financial crisis at the Vale, Stoke played fund-raising matches with the Vale in order to try and prevent their rivals from going into liquidation.[4] In turn, Vale allowed Stoke to play a home game at Vale Park when a freak gale in January 1976 caused severe damage to the Victoria Ground.[4] Come on guys, help us out! Can't we all just forget about the 90s? "Be loyal, be proud, be Stoke City" As long as there has been a city of Stoke-on-Trent there has been a Port Vale. I'm sure if Potters fans got behind the idea then a couple of matches could be arranged for the summer, raise some funds. The two teams haven't played each other in 10 years, and Stoke haven't beaten Vale in 15 years. Don't any of you have any fond memories of the 'good old bad old days'?

I hate to see ANY club with over 100 years history go under no matter who it is. The "rivalry" with Port Vale is history as they have not been for a longtime "rivals" in any way shape or form. They are a lower league team in our area and I have no problem with their existence and hope for the hardcore of fans they survive. Having worked throughout my life with Vale fans generally they are no different from any fan Stokies included who support their team through thick and thin(mainly thin). I dont get this" fuck em let them die" attitude. Its not something anyone over 50 would want who is potteries born & bred. Living overseas for years you always looked for Stoke first then Port Vale results just to stay in touch with your local teams and their progress and lets be honest if not for Uncle Peter there for the grace of god .....

Best of luck to them, hopefully they can sort out their financial problems quickly. Football rivalries become an irrelevance on occasions like this, certainly in my mind anyway. We are all Football supporters, and for that reason we shouldn't wish potential extinction on any club. With every club that ceases to exist, we move one step closer to the end of our Sport.

Even though we more than paid our way with regard to the Council's help with the Brit, they go cap in hand for yet another hand out.
You couldn't make it up really.
You reap what you sow and Fail fans have done plenty of sowing down the years.

to be honest i'm amazed that Mickey Adams has stuck around. he's been lied to and shafted by the club and may well now end on a scrap heap somewhere! i feel sorry for the supporters but it has to be said the club itself has been run abysmally for quite a while now. unfortunately though the club will disappear into oblivion and leave the supporters with nothing and the idiots that caused it all will quite happily continue to deal with their other business interests without batting an eyelid. i remember the days when people running a football club actually cared about the club rather than just business. the board should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves!

Probably felt like he owed the fans after leaving for Sheffield United. Plus he is a professional and so whilst there is a job to be done he will give his all to see it done. Can't imagine him working for free though :/
