Just a thought?
Did PC tell TP has spent enough already?
We have spent more than most teams over the last few seasons and not brought any cash in on sales of players.
By spending millions on players like Tongue, Soares, Davis etc and getting nothing from them.
We spent millions on Palacios and hardly used him.
The only player to have brought us a decent amount of cash was Tuncay and TP wouldnt play him.
So just maybe PC told our manager that he could only spend what cash he brought in?

It was a quiet window in general (QPR being the exception) and in truth our side is pretty competent at the moment in most areas. We didn't need to splash silly money on panic buys this window.

It's not the best window for value and I guess it was deemed that our need was not desperate.
Some deadwood would have needed clearing on perm deals to free up room anyway.

Cheers Stokelad Keep Fuller and if the rest are only on 10 grand a week that would pay the wage of a decent midfielder.

I must admit if I was PC I dont think I would trust Tone with any more of my money as he has wasted millions on players that have not contributed at all to our efforts. For some reason he allways has a reluctance to play many newly purchased players so it makes we wonder why on earth did we sign them in the first place, He also has a tendancy to pay way over the odds i.e Crouch & KJ. I also cant undertand why after spending all this money and after all this time we still dont have any premiership quality left/right backs and a spare winger. A situation which is absolutley inexcusable in my opinion. Why have we signed so many centre halfs? Surley Tone needs to spend the money evenly throughout each position?

Correct but my point is and the point that alot of people seem only to happy to ignore is that he has insisted in interviews over the years that he would not buy shit so as not to waste the Peter Coates's investments.....Well he has wasted a fair amount so in theory he has lied a smidge.

I assume you refer to the likes of Tongue, Soares and Davies? Yes he has made some poor signings but the vast majority have been worth value for money. I would imagine if you look at all his signings and judge how successful they were that he'd have a pretty high success ratio.

Tonge, Soares and Davies were last minute panic buys as we entered our fist season in the Prem. They are entirely understandable. If folk can only think of those 3 as wasting money then TP has an almost 100% record in the transfer market.

I think Uncle Peter trusts TP with his money more than any manager in the world!! You're probably right but for the life of me can't see why, the only players who really have value (or profit) are Sorenson, Bego, Shawcross, Huth and Pennant. I really can't see value (financially) in the others. Tommy for me has been an absolute steal.

We're top half premier league. Our squad is almost unrecognisable from the team that got promoted. I would say that TP has done very well all things considered.

Tuncay, Whitehead, Collins, Woodgate, Palacios (can't play in wind) are or were all wastes of money either because he won't play them or vastly overpaid for them. Bit harsh. Tuncay - We didn't lose that much on Tuncay given the fee that Wolfsburg paid for him. Whitehead - looks expensive but that's the sort of price you pay for regular PL starters (I know that we should be looking abroad to get better value). Collins - same as Whitehead. I don't think either sigining was a disaster. Woodgate - was a free Palacios - looks to be getting better for us every week (wind permitting). He seems to require abit more pastoral care than others. Far too early to judge. Overall I think Pulis's record in the transfer market is fairly good. For every Kitson there's a Shawcross. For every Woodgate there's an Etherington. He's not a genius and he's been well backed but plenty of other managers have been well backed and have fucked it up.

Think it probably came down to the fact there wasn't anybody we wanted who was available. Don't think there was anybody transferred who I thought wow we could really do with them.
