How many times have we heard this, especially before he joined the club.
Some of his performances were spectacular (one against Chelsea springs to mind) and I for one was hoping for the same when he joined.
My question/point is, can anyone remember coming back from a game and thinking 'Jones was unplayable today?'
Not having a go at the guy, I just wondered if anyone could remember actually using this term to describe Jones in his tenure so far?

He has been "unplayable" in the majority of league games since Crouchy has signed hasn't he? At least Pulis thinks he is "unplayable" hence why he doesn't play very often! Sorry!

Remember Hansen saying this about him a few seasons back when he was at Sunderland after a game against Chelsea i think but its just a pity his personality/culture prevents him getting motivated for every game.

Jones thrives on high crosses into the box. Unless we play a fully fit Ethers and Pennant he tends not to get them. If he is asked to play as deep as he was on Tuesday he tends to get even fewer of them.
Having said that, he could/should have showed at bit more appetite for the fight than he did at times on Tuesday.

You have to add 'on his day' to make it sound better, mean less, but not damage your own credibility.

I dont know about "unplayable" but hes certainly "unwatchable". The sooner we get rid him and get us a proper striker the better. Hes just a lazy lumbering waste of space. I think the only really good game he had for us was his debut and since then hes just been stealing a living just as he did at Sunderland. One of the most overated players of all time hes definatly no where near good enough for the prem.

At the moment the only players who seem to give a toss are tommy, huth and Johnny Walters. Spending £40 on a ticket, £20 on a train to watch ur players half heartdely try is pathetic. I appreciete their tired but they are proffessionals, i cant turn up to work on a monday and say sorry gaffer im tired today. They get £30,000+ in their banks every friday, and some of us dont earn that in a year. Ill defend us till the cows come home but Pennant and Kenywne looked bored on Tuesday night. They need to get their act together, we arent the best footballing team in the world but we rely on our grit, passion and determination. If things carry on this way i may as well sit in the comfort of my home and watch the game on Sky!!!

Was qualitu his 20minutes against Wolves
but to be fair... he gets cery little from referees when ge gets tge ball he.tends to get kicked alot, whenbhe tries to get in.positiona hes geting pushed and pulled everywhere - vety hard for him ti anything..he played a couple if bad balls on.Tuesday but in general he makes passes pottentially good balls but Ethers or Pennant (whoever is on the wing) fail to.read them and Jones gets the boos because hes become the boo boy If the same incident happened.with Huth or Fuller everybody would be booing the player recieving the ball - just the nature of Stoke, well football fans in general.
For this about him not being in the box....He gets asked to play in midfield affectivly...he cant be buatibg a cut to get in the box every time.
when he does get in the box, Huth normally gets in his way and heads the ball wide (yes Huth does make mistakes)

To me he has always been shite (I remember his loan spell from a few years ago). However, I trust TP and while I was not enthused by KJ I accept that Pulis thought/thinks he could/can do a job. I was only ever impressed by Kenwyne once when he played for Sunderland against us at the Brit. He won every single header in Sunderlands box against our corners - class as a centre half (if he wasn't so soft). If we can get 6M for him I would be amazed. I would sell him for 3M (even less if I am being honest).

spurs away last year fuckin brilliant and he was on a bad run n all Who was his debut against? Was it that game he got injured against wolves? Yeah it was, he looked good in that game until injured. Was good for the first few games. I was generally enthusiastic about us signing him, thought he would be a perfect match for us but he just seems to have very long spells where he does nothing at all. Like some above said, he does need the crosses to get the best out of him. Attacking the ball in the box in the air he is one of the best in the Prem and better than Crouch at this.

Jones is probably the most frustrating player we have at Stoke and that is why someone starts a new thread about him on a daily basis. As others have frequently mentioned, if he had more hunger and more fight in him he wouldn't be playing for us. He would be with someone like Chelsea or Liverpool. He is what he is, a talented footballer who won't fulfill his potential but I hope he stays at Stoke for a long time yet because there are fewer better strikers in this league.

Don't think he's clinical enough or has a good enough touch to play for one of 'big clubs' though.

One of the best in the air get the ball in the box early play to his strengths its easy really. Pulis trying to change our style a little back to basics you see the best out of KJ again.

An exceptionally promising appearance from KJ in the Mama position at Old Trafford.
He did much better in the role than Crouchy had done against lower league opposition at Derby.
With Walters clearly needing a rest, KJ seems the best option for the midfield/striker position that is unique to SCFC.

Did he actually do ok?

The thing that always frustrates me is when he wins the ball in midfield, lays it of and then casually strolls towards the penalty area instead of bursting a lung to get on the end of the return like almost any other striker in the Prem. He has all the attributes to be a top player, he has the athleticism and physic to brush defenders aside but I fear we will still be saying the same things about him when he hangs up his boots. I wouldn't care if he wasn't as prolific a finisher if he just put himself about more and dished it out a little, the odd red card earned for battering the opposition's defence would go some way to making up for it.

He's just too nice! Kenwyne must be 14 and a half stone of pure muscle, yet he get's bullied by just about anyone. Give me 10 minutes with him pre-match and we would have an absolute battering ram on our hands

TP needs to stand in front of him before the game wearing just a towel and a stonking hard on under it. He then says to Jones. "Score today kiddie or I'll make you feel like a common prostitute after the game and your arsehole will look like a wind sock after I've turned it inside out". I'm sure he'd try much harder
