if we want to finish in the top half this season?
I think we really could do with a win otherwise we could slide down the table dramatically in the next 2 months - we do have some extremely tough league games coming up:
Fulham (A) Swansea (H) Norwich (H) Chelsea (A) Spurs (A) Man City (H) Wigan (A)
On current form, I can't see us getting many points from this lot. I really do hope we can maintain our position, but I'm not brimming with confidence.

OBVIOUSLY it's a 'must win' game. If we have 'mass depression' at a defeat at Old Trafford then surely we need to beat Sunderland by at least 6 goals to keep our fans happy. ;D

Cant see us beating Sunderland on Saturday, I think we are going through one of our troughs in form that always follow a good run.

The next 'must win' game is Valencia, followed by Crawley.

Agree with the above, with it being a must not lose game.

Top half isn't really our priority anymore.
I think the plan now is to secure Prem status as quickly as possible and then concentrate on the cups.
We need 10 points from 15 games to stay up.
Crawley away is a massive game. If we win there we are 1 game from Wembley.

For me yes. The last few home matches have been wank in terms of excitement, energy and most importantly results. We have pissed points up the wall to WBA, Wigan and Villa. Add to this the losses to QPR and Newcastle earlier in the season. I'm not at all confident that we'll beat Sunderland (I'm usually very optimistic). We need a spark or freshening up somehow - very lacklustre at the moment

not a must win as such but certainly a game where we need to be positive after three poor home performances , tough against a confident sunderland though

Will we TRY to win it and will we TRY to attack because its at home???
Will the Woodgate/Shotton combo be back in the team sat because if so we will lose.
Pulis shit himself v West Brom at home so he will v Sunderland and the Martin O'Neil syndrome! I can hear Pulis now come thursday saying how sunderland are this and that so i need to pick a defensive side blah blah blah

Have any of you wrist slashers actually watched Sunderland recently? Despite the MON "revolution" they are still pretty poor and have trouble finding the net.
We could gift them but we could also send them on their own little crisis of confidence by signalling the inevitable end of MON's honeymoon period.
