I've never heared so much shite in all my f**king days. Talk about rose tinted spectacles - Rory has been woeful for the last 12 months. What is it with the 'love-in' for all the senior players, FFS you'd have them playing on zimmer frames and still be applauding.
Get real and open your eyes; we'd be better playing 10 men.

That is just plain stupid. How could we possibly get to an FA Cup Final, do well in Europe and continue to progress in the league on a year by year basis if we played with 10 men every week?
You have blinkers on if you can't see that Rory is well worth a place in our central midfield. We certainly don't have any better options at the moment.
Palacios is not fit and is a passenger in our team, Whitehead is toss and Whelan is very inconsistent. I still think that Whelan/Rory combination is the best available to us right now but hopefully Palacios will find his legs and break that partnership at some time in the near future.
Rory is getting on and needs to be phased out but to say that a player is shit, contributes nowt and should be pensioned off when only last week, at Liverpool, he was the best midfield player on show, is frankly, quite ludicrous.
It is also worth noting that he has played practically his whole career (save for 2 seasons) in the Premiership, and you don't do that by being a walking throw in.

I'm with Dave and Bayern here, but I'm really, really trying not to get involved because it is, frankly, an incredibly boring debate with the battle lines having been identical for both sides for years and years.
Anyway, more to the point, Delap was far from the worst player on the pitch against Brazil, I'd have him in the middle over Wilson, calling him a 'disgrace' is just plain stupid and I'd have him alongside Palacios in our first choice midfield. Oh, and I do so love these posters who only ever come on to scream hysterically about how bad Delap is. I bet they're the nutters who phone up Radio Stoke win, lose or draw demanding that he's summarily executed by MI5. ;D

I didn't think Rory was his usual self Bayern and I thought that Whelan had a decent game to be fair to him. He tried to make things happen, not always successfully, but he did try. That said, there were several much worse performances than Rory's on Saturday, including Walters, Wilson, Woodgate, Shotton, Crouch and Etherington, but one should never let facts get in the way of a good scapegoat. Etherington covered Rory....I have never read so much shit in my life and that is saying something on here. If it wasn't Etherington covering it was Shotton scooping up the mess when Whelan went left of centre, get yourself down to Specsaver - you seen to have a touch of Pulis tunnel vision.

I suggest a few on here take to time to actually watch Delap and compare with every other player on the pitch, forget the throws and watch his clever evasion on the ball. The donkey wouldn't get a place in a Div 1 team ffs, move on people there are better players at the club right now.

Marc Wilson is not fit to lace Rory's boots. FFS he is such a fantastic midfielder he can't get in OUR central midfield!

As Dave Johnno has already stated, he too slow in both his head and feet and I think that is the reason why TP does not want to play him there but as he has cost us Kitson, Lawrence and a sack load of cash I guess he has to try and include him rather than admit he didn't get what he thought he was getting and move him on. If TP does have a failing other than extreme stubborness is that he will pay over the odds for very average players.
