I just don't get it!! I'd have thought everyone with an interest in SCFC would have known the cut-off date for ST holders. Admittedly it wasn't in your face at every turn but nevertheless a quick glance at the club site or a few minutes on here told everyone everything they needed to know about the cut-off dates. Maybe the 3rd January deadline could have been extended for another week, but what real difference does that make? I'm no Rockafella, but £30 (what I paid) is hardly going to break the bank is it? Folk just need to realise that we're no longer small-time and shock as it is, watching a Premier League team play a leading European club in the later stages of a European competition isn't going to be as cheap as some would hope. completely agree! i think the club presume that as most ST holders are adults they therefore don't need to be sppon fed EVERY little bit of info there is. As a ST holder it's probably fair to presume that people will have an active interest in the club and may have the initiative to actually have a quick look at the website themselves? Are people really so incapable that they have to have a text alert or have a full page advertisement in the Sentinel thrust in their face everytime the club plan to do anything? Rather than slate the club why don't you use that energy to find out the info yourselves, takes most people with internet access about 2 mins to do

When tickets go on sale earlier than expected you'd expect some publicity. It's not like we'd just got through and the tie was a couple of weeks away so we'd all be on the lookout. The tie was almost 2 months away from when they went on sale. I for one didnt expect them to be on sale till early maybe mid Jan so I wasn't on the lookout for them. So unless I was buying tickets for another game (which at the time I wasn't as already had my tickets for other games in place) then I wouldn't be on our site. I rarely directly goto to Stoke's official site apart from buying tickets online as I use Newsnow for all my Stoke news as it links to a lot of diff sites and get all my news in one place rather than searching for it.

Seriously, what would be your idea of how they should have informed you?

No that wasn't the point I was making. They should advertise at the ground for instance, local media not just the website. We have a big screen, advertising boardings, a PA system they could have used to let us know while we were all at a match. Not everyone uses Stoke's website that is all I'm saying.

I only knew of the deadline because I looked on here last night!
Had a panic on that it had gone to silver members, fortunately none of those seem to know anything abot it either so all mine and my mates STs seats were still available, and then lots of texts and calls to make sure everybody got their seats!
Noticed quit a few by us not taken, even guys that go to all the cup games regardless so will be a shock for some of them when they realise...
Price I can live with for such a glamour tie (although £25 for 17 years olds seems a bit steep), should surely be u18 for the cut off
But I agree with a number of the posts on here, 3rd Jan was a silly cut off point, cant remember anything being announced at the games over Xmas, or in the press, and only a small update on the off website.
Dont think it would have harmed them to email (as they are quick enough to email offers and sales stuff to me!) or to heavily publicise the dates in the local press and at the games before, half time and after the festive games.
Oh well, mine and boys are sorted now and after fannying round got my nephew and his mates sorted too (hadnt got their client numbers, so registered them at midnight last night online and bought their tickets for their seats from general sale!)
Not a good process though chaps, and lets face it, there was no rush really was there! The game is still 5-6 weeks away ffs!

I found out via Twitter about dates for Valencia ticket and dates for ST holders. Was also over the Website for Stoke, so i don't see how people can say they didn't realise. Also £25 for a game against a top flight spanish team is quite cheap and thought the £15 Per match for the group stage was a bargain. Its a business remember and I'm 100% that Coates will be putting that straight back into the club.

And for all the naysayers, if a lot of season ticket holders (looking at the stadium map its going to be a lot of people!) were not aware, then perhaps the fault isnt with those who didnt scour the official webpage non stop over Christmas, but the clubs
If I was the only one, or in a minority, then fine thats my faut for not looking, but I get the feeling its not just me and a few others, its a large number!
Sometimes they make mistakes as we all do, its no reason to criticise others on here!
I come here for all my news usually not the official page, but I have had Christmas off in the main :-)

yes, how dare my OAP dad not have the internet, eh?
Ffs, we had 8 working days at BEST over the Xmas period to get them (if you knew they were on sale).
Do you think folk spending their festive period on the internet, not doing family/festive stuff? 8 days is a joke for a fixture 8 weeks away, dress it up all you like.
Price is fair, but yet again PA is dire. Why not send a letter, they do for everything else?

Well, whatever was holding back ticket sales earlier is no longer the case now - the word has obviously spread and seats are disappearing fast... The upper section of block 21 has gone from about 60% sold three hours ago to about 90% now. This game will sell out by 16 Feb, no problem...

I don't normally criticise the club for ticketing etc. but I think there are a few valid points being made. It would have shown some thought to give some people time to sort out their finances after the holidays and even save up if necessary to be able to claim their ST seat. Also it's true that many wouldn't have thought the deadline was so early at 6 weeks before the game and just missed it. End of Jan would have been plenty of time. I'm not going to complain about the ticket price however it will be interesting to see how much Valencia are going to charge. I know that when they played in the CL in September they gave Chelsea 2400 tickets at £18 each. Would they charge more for the Europa?

I think whats not helped is that the cut off point was just after New years and they only came on sale over Christmas. Now I know From about December my mind is firmly placed of Christmas getting presents for everyone, sorting out available dated to see different friends and family, getting the turkey. It wouldn'y have hurt the club to much to extend the ST deadline for another 7 - 10 days

it will sell out. a lot of people are skint until the end of the month and will get their tickets then

The deadline was ludicrous, I'll be skint all month now - £96 for 3 tickets! 'kinell.
I think it will definitely sell out though.

I just love reading all the posts about the tickets being pricey.
FFS pull yourselves together; how much do you think ManU or other 'top four' teams would be charging? £27 is a bargain. You just gotta hope we don't do too much and end up in the Champs League next year!
