m.metalhammer.co.uk/news/voice-behind-maidens-number-of-the-beast-intro-passes-away/Barry Clayton, who provided the spoken intro to Iron Maiden's timeless classic 'The Number Of The Beast', passed away last week at the age of 80. As well as that infamous intro, which has since been sewn into the annals of heavy metal history and chanted by millions around the world, Barry was also a pioneering radio personality, launching the Black Londoner's radio show on the BBC in 1974 before joining Capital Radio in 1988. RIP Barry. We will never forget those hallowed lines: Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea For the Devil sends the beast with wrath Because he knows the time is short Let him who have understanding Reckon the number of the beast For it is a human number Its number is six hundred and sixty six.

Noooooooooooo!! I always used to impress friends with my Heavy Metal trivia knowledge on that voiceover. I think I'm correct in saying he also did the voice on the titles of Count Duckula back in the 80's. Woe indeed....
