According to a Wednesday mate, SCFC are unwilling to let him go without a clause re immediate recall, hence no news as yet Also, SCFC will not allow him to play in FA Cup against WHU this weekend.
I wonder if the capped one will give him a run out against Gillingham to assess, if above rumour is true?

After seen what McClean has done when thrown in at Sunderland I can't understand why we don't do the same with Marshall and see what he's got.

Fair doos in my book, our player should be allowed to be recalled if required.
Plus totally agree give him a run out against the Gills, he will be certainly used to playing that level of opposition.

When does his current half season loan (with no recall) expire? If it isn't until late this month we would not be able to play him against the Gills.

In that case he can't play against the Gills for us.

I thought once a season loan had been agreed the club cannot recall him and cannot even use him if the other club change their minds halfway through the loan?
Mickkel Forsell Palace and Chelsea?

He's not on a season loan - he is nearing the end of a half season loan - so, at present he can't be recalled until 15 January.

But has it not been extended until the end of season already which negates the 15th January thing?

Shame he can not have a run against Gills. SWFC mate and their board reckons the capped one doesn't want to play against WHU in FA cup - doesn't add up. He stopped them from playing him the last round didn't he?

But has it not been extended until the end of season already which negates the 15th January thing? No, it hasn't been extended - yet. Although the clubs are discussing the terms of the extension. It could be extended to a season long loan OR we could go instead for a 3 month loan (with recall clause) - with the possibility of him playing for us for a week or two before that loan starts.

Nowt official Megson states still in talks, as does Sentinel today Meanwhile, Stoke remain in conversation with Gary Megson's Sheffield Wednesday after verbally agreeing to let winger Ben Marshall remain on loan at Hillsborough until the end of the season.

Sorry to invade your site but a Owls fan here, firstly can i say you really do not want Marshall back he is shite, cant control the ball, no skill whatsoever, no footballing nounce and a shocking attitude so i say we do you a favour and keep him and you lot forget all about him and save yourselves a wage... :-) The problem is he is a free agent in June (he's only 20 so a fee will be involved) and Stoke have yet to offer him a contract therefor this is being monitored by approx (rumours) 5 clubs including us. Now i know there is a massive difference between League 1 and the Premier but he is far too good for this division and has been absolutely brilliant for us. The rumours in Sheffield are Stoke will probably offer him a new contract (again why you havent already beggars belief) and then you will loan him back to us for the rest of the season, (fingers crossed here). So i urge you to tell TP hes crap and get rid of him to Wednesday ASAP. Good luck for the rest of the season

twitter.com/#!/John__Percy Any more news to report on the ongoing Ben Marshall saga john__Percy? Still no confirmation that Ben has signed his new contract at #scfc? Talks ongoing. Two-and-a-half year deal on table at Stoke. Don't envisage any problems 3 hours ago via web

It makes sense that TP does not want him cup tied and would want a recall clause in light of whay happened last year when we lost Ethrington. His age means that he wouldn't need to be in the 25 man league squad.
