Martinez gets loads of credit for the style of play he brings to the Premier League. Well his teams seem to bring plenty of stuff that I don't want to see as well. Cynical, cheats and always moaning to the ref. Great to see isn't it and I'm sure Martinez is very proud. I didnt see any wigan players running to the referee with an imaginary card held up like the numerous stoke players did with caldwell - cuts both ways i dont want that shit from opponents but i equally wont condone it or ignore it when its ours.

I didn't see Jerome doing the card for Cauldwell but I did when we were trying to take the penalty. To be honest I don't blame them, they were in affect controlling the game, it was a joke the ref took that long to book 1 of them, all they did all match was bloody cheat!

That bloke was a complete disgrace and the bloke with his kid should have twatted him for the gestures he was making.Looked a dirty greasy spanish bloke to me who had great pleasure in telling us where to go Who the Hell was he. He was having a go from early on. Could have caused a riot with his behaviour. he was sat right in front of me and was having good banter with everyone until some knob with his young son on his knee called him a "dirty greasy gyppo cunt" for absolutely no reason. sure he wouldnt say it if he was in front of him. he was fucking huge. oh and by the way he was the coach driver

He meant to hit the advertising hoardings rather than the crowd and apologised immediately and then again a couple of times afterwards.
Something in nothing and totally different to the intentional blast into the crowd by David Speedie all those years ago.
EDIT - I really hope our players weren't "card waving". I hate to see that and am proud of out players for avoiding such antics. I really don't want us to be going down that road. If we did, hopefully TP will bollock the culprits and it won't happen again

He didn't mean it ,it was just heat of the moment thing,I was in the Seddon and he apologised straight away. it was violent conduct which carries an automatic red card would you like your child hit in the face with a ball travelling at such velocity?? he didnt need to do it he just wanted to show his frustration?? well if you get nicked for scrappin tonight just tell the judge that and another thing he had a huge part in the build up of their goal if he wasnt on the pitch he wouldnt have been able do that would he!!

So you don't see petulance at almost every match week in week out? Let me know which matches you watch, Padres v Vicars perhaps? Gouranga. petulance ,yes sure (even when Fuller isn't playing) but kicking the ball into the crowd at full pelt in anger? nope.just the once - till today Well if he did aim for a kid in the upper tier of the stand then we should sing the fucker up because he’s more accurate than anyone else I’ve se at the Brit for a long time. It was petulance he kicked the ball in frustration and it went high FFS there are some right moaning mard arses on this board, if it was a Stoke player there’d be nothing mentioned at all about it. Some people on here need to get a fucking life and find something better to moan about .he smashed the ball into the stand unless he forgot wigan were away it was allways going to hit some body Gouranga.

How fucking pathetic are some Stoke fans. Nasty Wigan players - play acting, time wasting, handball, kicking the ball in frustration.
Stoke players never do anything like that - deliberate time wasting with throws, holding players in the box, ridiculous 'tackles' by Delap, imaginary card waving.
All teams do it, Stoke are just as adept. Stoke fans are moaning their bags off about other teams then having a go at other fans and journo's for moaning about us - PATHETIC.
Let's just get on with it ffs.

Even though it was done in the heat of the moment, it was a crass and dangerous thing to do, and he should have got a red card immediately. It was no different than you or I lashing out at a completely innocent person because we're feeling petulant. He kicked the ball with venom, and it's not inconcievable that someone could have been seriously injured. He knew he'd done wrong the moment he did it, and put up his hand to apologise, but that doesn't excuse him one bit. As a pro footballer, whatever his frustrations, he has no right to deliberately try and injure a member of the paying public. Look at it this way, would he have lashed the ball at his own supporters in the same way? No, of course not, his intentions were to lash out at anything Stoke, and it just so happened (according to what is said in the original OP) that it was a six-year-old kid who got the brunt of his temper. The bastard!

As someone said earlier on the thread, if the ball had been kicked at the ref or his assistant, a red card would have been produced immediately. So, like OS, I don't see how it shouldn't be a red card for kicking the ball hard into the crowd after it was out of play. To give a red card for kicking it at the ref or linesman but not for kicking it at a fan makes no sense at all. It might seem harsh on the player but if refs are brave enough to give red cards in that situation players would never do it again. As far as the refusal to leave the penalty area to allow our penalty to be taken - the first player should have been yellow carded as soon as he refused to leave the area and the ref sgould have continued to issue yellows if the reaining players did not leave immediately. If one of them ended up being a second yellow (resulting in a red) - tough titty.

Im pretty sure if Ryan Shawcross had done it it would have been highlighted on MOTD
My mates watched MOTD with me (southerners) and wanted to know why he was being booed later on. Reality is that MOTD simply dont have an agenda with Wigan as they are seen as everyones favourite 2nd Prem team - Not like big nasty horribble Stoke

O and the card waving antics were also a joke and we need to stamp that out straight away.
