Kenwyne could learn a thing or two from Holt

Kenwyne could learn a thing or two from Holt I would swap them any day of the week. Just think how much Liverpool spent on the Geordie who isn't fit to lace Holt's boots.

I wouldn't swap them, KJ is a far better player but Holt makes the most of his size though and really puts his weight about. KJ seems very lightweight, he had a shocker last night, akin to one of Pericards performances. There is a lot of potential there though.

And scores goals at better than 1 every 2 games.
Should be an England regular.

Take it you are ignoring his spell at Forest and this season at Norwich where he hasn't even been a regular until recently.
Holt is shit and will never be anything other than a lower league journeyman enjoying a few days in the sun.

Although march ( typically ) goes to extremes to get his point across I have to say I agree to a large extent , holts movement , awareness , is infinitely better than jones and is more of a handful / nuisance , like him or not , he would fit into our system like a treat ! Jones is a poor mans holt IMO !

Holt, crap? He's scored 7 goals in 8 starts, 7 goals in 16 appearances overall.
Sorry, but that's a phenomenal record - especially given he's playing for a supposed relegation candidate.
The only negative about him is he is 30 years old. 5 years younger and he'd be hot property, and rightly so. He's done very, very well.

Did I just describe Walters?
Playing how he has done of late, YES.
Holt is crap and just because KJ is playing shit right now, doesn't make him any better than he actually is.
He is doing well for Norwich at the moment. DJ Campbell scored 11 goals last season. Cameron Jerome scored 11 goals the season before that.
Both of them, like Holt, are shit as well.

I remember going to watch Grant Holt play for my local team Barrow many years ago, he was only 19-20 at the time, but he looked a fantastic prospect at that level then and I thought he could make it at this level one day. I think it was Sheffield Wednesday who snapped him up from Barrow but he never really produced the goods there, and then he was sold onto Rochdale at the age of about 23 and he made his name there, scored 30 odd goals in 70 odd appearances.
He's an old fashioned centre forward, he reminds me a bit of Duncan Ferguson in the sense he's big, strong and likes to put his weight about and let his presence be known. He's far more of a natural goalscorer than Ferguson was though, and his hold-up play and close control is excellent too.
Top player.

Utter wank! Holt ffs! Parkin in disguise! Poster making comparison with DJ Cambell is spot on, how many would want him in the side? England regular March? Well you never know, now that Martin Johnson has gone perhaps the new bloke will give him a go!

Holt may be crap but I think it's fantastic that a journeyman former Rochdale and Barrow striker is doing the business in the Prem (if only temporarily).
Gives me renewed hope that real football still exists.
Reminds me a little bit of when fat Micky Quinn suddenly scored a load of goals for Coventry at the end of his career.

DJ Campbell 11 goals - shit. Cameron Jerome 11 goals - shit. Grant Holt 7 goals half way through the season - shit.
Thats 29 goals between them in the top division in England and all 29 of them must have bounced off some part of their bodies as they just wandered onto the pitch in bewilderment following their release from the nut house.
Our top scorer in a whole season in the Prem. Ricardo Fuller 08-09....10 goals. Ric you are a fucking disgrace and well you must be er.....shit.
Grant Holt is Norwich's Mama. A pain in the arse for opposing teams, holds the ball up well, brings his team mates into play but unlike Mama actually scores a few goals.
If he played for us we would love him.

KJ is an infinitely better player than Holt, the difference is that Holt gets makes the most of his very average talents while KJ just doesn't give a shit sometimes.
We have seen the best and worst of KJ in his brief time at Stoke. Last night was the perfect example, he didn't challenge for the ball, barely jumped for a header, didn't run and looked totally uninterested. On his day though, he is a magnificent header of the ball, strong as an ox and has great pace, basically the perfect target man. It's not too long since Sunderland laughed off a £15M bid for him from Spuds, and John Terry said he was the most difficult forward to play against in English football.
I wouldn't swap KJ for Holt in a million years and we have to realise that the only reason we have a player of KJ's ability is because he is so inconsistent. We knew that when we signed him and we knew we would have have to put up with a fair share of performances like last night but in return we would get plenty of top performances too.
The perfect compromise would be a player with KJ's ability and Holt's attitude, but that player would be playing champions league football with one of the title contenders. I fear we will lose KJ in Jan, or if not then certainly the summer, as be will look for 1st team football but I rate him as a player and hope he stays.

Irish Stokie i totally agree with you, i would never exchange KJ for Holt. Horses for courses and all that and Holt is perfect for Norwich. I would love KJ to become a SCFC legend. The guy has the talent but i think it's the application.
Stop being so bloody chilled lad, use your height, use your strength man. Stub out that big fat spliff and make a name for yourself.
