Yes there is discontent off it. I know first hand. I'll say no more.

Delap was superb when he came on. He gave the organisation we had been sadly lacking. We looked more compact and stopped surrendering the midfield. We pushed up 10 yards and had our best portion of the game. The only question for me is who will partner Rory in central midfeild for every game over the next 3 years. See, I thought you were serious until that last sentence.

Mr March requires his medication!

Pugsley That is the biggest load of shite I think ive ever heard on here. Shotton was superb tonight. To say hes only playing because he can throw a ball is ludicrous and shows total naivity on your part. Shotton was playing for 2 reasons - he can throw it and the Manager is 'teaching' Pennant a lesson (pathetic but true) Ryan played for throws (no doubt under instruction), had his back to play, looked confused, was out of position many times, and gave the ball away or kicked it straight out of play. On some occasions he got his head down and ran with the ball into blind alleys - to the indoctrinated faithful this constitutes being SUPERB.

Most folk on here would agree that Shotton's been pretty good in the last few games and deserves his place. To say he's teaching Pennant a lesson is just your speculation, regardless of how 'true' you think it is! He was mediocre last night, lost the ball lots of times, but did bang in a couple of excellent crosses. He's a youngish lad though and still getting better.

Why was an inexperienced RIGHT BACK playing wide right in front of a proven winger who has probably the most footballing ability at the club?

I only watched on tv so you dont always get a true reflection of a players performance but i don't think Shotton is up to playing on the right side of midfield , he's not quick enough , shown when he tried to run Warnock and was a good metre behind and he hasn't got a good enough touch or a trick to come inside all he does is run head down often into a dead end. He's often talked of as a prospect ie he'll get better well it needs to happen soon as he's 23. To raise an old point we really should be having this conversation about the likes of Cuvelier and most obviously Marshall.
