Why is there no time period for silver members to buy tickets. Whats the point in having them if they arent going to be used?

£19 for me in the Boothen - its great to be very old! ;D Just ordered online with no probs. To be fair - most of us will have expected "normal" prices if we reached the knockout stages. I certainly did.

What the fuck is all that about?! On previous trips ... you would be refunded your money if you booked a place but were unsuccessful in getting a ticket. So there is now an EXTRA tier to the away priorities? I'm pretty certain that when they sold Patinum+ memberships, they said that you were guaranteed a ticket for all away matches.

I think I read there are only a few hundred places on the official trip

I presume the colonel means that the number of tickets allocated to us will be much more than the small number of places on the official trip. In fact the number of tickets will also be well above the plat+ numbers and probably above the plat numbers who want to go. I expect they will reach gold sale and silver sale and possibly general sale.

The club sold Platinum+ on the basis that it was as good as it it gets, it was impossible to purchase better. Last night my little brother who hasn't set foot in the Brit in two or three seasons and certainly hasn't been to an away game (apart from the Cup Final : in that time - indeed he would't even know there was a priority scheme in place, phoned me too see if it would be easy enough to get two to tickets for Valencia away. I replied that he may have to sit in the home sections because the tickets might not make it beyond season ticket holders - how wrong I was, he could guarantee himself an away ticket tomorrow if he wanted to!

I suppose that, having made the decision to organise the Official Trip "in house" unlike previous arrangements, the club would hardly be able to sell flight tickets if it couldn't guarantee match tickets.
I agree it is messy and does fly in the face of what was announced when the membership schemes were announced. However, given Valencia have a 55,000 seater stadium which they did not sell out against Chelsea?) I remain confident that tickets will get to general sale - even though the club can't, at this stage, say that they will.

Indeed John - it's the underhand suggestion that they might not, that I find distatesful and is actually quite unneccessary.

Yes, there is no doubt that the main object of the club statement was to boost sales of their own travel package. I see that they have been undercut by a big margin by the very reasonable Sport Options packages which are not hugely more expensive than the two day trip my group have arranged for ourselves.

A poor scare mongering marketing tactic by the club and it should be frowned upon. The company I work for is a corporate partner and sponsor at the club and we were today offered a guaranteed ticket, flight with the players and a few "VIP niceties" for the small fee of £720! Needless to say we won't be taking up the option. I'm fortunate enough to be booked up for Valencia already with my mates (my third European away adventure) and a ticket via my membership guaranteeing a ticket.

So nobody has any idea as to why the club hasn't given Silver membership holders a period where they can buy tickets before they go on general sale?

I finished work after that post. That was what I meant Lakeland, yes. Only plat + have been guaranteed tickets as far as I know. And they still will be. I think there are 500 p+ member and a few hundred places. They do have a cheek selling their packages on that basis, mind you they have little else going for them. Makes it tighter for the rest of us and I agree with you Paul that the priority system is sold as one thing and then altered at will. It does stink, unfortunately it always bloody stinks for someone.

I'd be amazed (and shocked) if anyone who REALLY wants to go to Valencia can't get a ticket in the away end.
In a stadium that holds 55,000 and is not going to be anything like full it really would be a monumental cock-up.
