I thought that would have been a plus after the success of Ba... Would be ironic if we went after him. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16250349.stmSochaux striker Modibo Maiga has said he will continue to pursue a Premier League move, amid the apparent collapse of his proposed move to Newcastle. The Magpies' interest in the 25-year-old is reported to have cooled after a medical check last week uncovered a potential knee problem. "I love the Premier League and want to play there," Maiga told skysports.com. "Hopefully I will have another chance. My health is very good and my knees are strong." Maiga added: "I wanted that move to Newcastle badly. "However it did not happen as they said my knee has a problem, but I feel better than anything.

The most ironic thing would be if we did buy him and his knee problems turned out to be genuine, because it REALLY would happen to us haha
btw, fuck me how many sponsors does that shirt have on it? he looks like a walking billboard

But weren't they talking a few million for this guy? Ba cost them fuck all.
I'm sure we'd have jumped at the chance of signing Ba for free (probably tried), and i'm sure he'd have told us to fuck off (probably did). Don't forget we backed out of £7m deal, not a free transfer.
Best to let the whole thing go now. Ba is doing well, but we've got a quality selection of strikers ourselves.

Don't forget we backed out of £7m deal, not a free transfer. I got the idea from somewhere that it was a £9M deal? Or did Hoffenheim keep 'moving the goal posts' (to use the parlance of our times), wasn't that also a problem, either way Hoffenheim were not making things any easier for us I think I read somewhere.
