Did you really believe that after spending over £20 million in August we would again spend big money in January? Are squad of players are good enough to continue to a similar level of performance which they have been performing all season. Stoke have much more depth in the squad than many of the teams which rival us in the league, yet you still feel the need to complain! But they WON'T continue performing at the same level, can you not see how exhausted Walters is? I believed we would strengthen the areas we are weak in - we have NO winger cover and just sold Marshall for £1m. Square pegs, round holes and tired players. We could be in for a tricky second half of the season. Yes, Walters is exhausted but we have a tailor made cover for him in Jerome. I am sure that all Stoke fans would have liked a winger, but we have enough depth in the squad to be able to last until the summer window before making any signings. I think that Stoke are set for a top half finish this season, with a good performance in at least 1 cup competition. Marshall was a 20 year old with no premier league experience and i think that people who have never seen him play will be surprised when they see at Leicester that he isn't yet ready for premier league football. Many teams in the premier league are spending lots of money, e.g. QPR and do you honestly think that they will finish above Stoke this season. Stoke City are now a comfortable premier league team.

I hope you are right. I agree Marshall was untested but it seems strange to lose essentially the only wing cover we have. QPR have spent shrewdly to be fair - Cisse, Onuoha and Zamora (if they get him) are good signings.

Do you see us being set up for a top ten finish if Ethers breaks his leg? Etherington would be a big miss but we have played relativly successfully in recent weeks with 1 winger on, we have Walters, Jerome and Delap for cover in that position their. Yes that is not their natural position but they have previously done a job their. Anything is possible in football.

Yes that is not their natural position but they have previously done a job their. Anything is possible in football. We've not been doing 'top 10' well with one winger though. And we don't know what's going to happen with Pennant for all that. None of those players are a patch on Etherington out wide and we struggle to create chances as it is...
