According to Sheffield press Sheff Weds are stepping up their bid to sign Marshall full time and Megson has been in talks with TP.
The Star 12 Dec:-
“I’ve spoken to Tone and we’ll see we can do.
“I’m on the phone an awful lot to Tone; we’ve known each since we were 15. I have a great relationshio with Tone, a great lad, a terrific manager.
“It’s nice seeing what Tony’s saying - that if Ben does stay here he’s in good hands. Tony is one of my biggest mates''
Have seen him twice at Sheff Weds this season, miles above anybody else in that team. Will be a very good signing for them.

don't let him go yet, see what he's like in the championship, perhaps a loan there in January?
Tell him look what Shotton has done after playing the loan market

He's going, isn't he? I'm certain that it's bad news.

This. I can see him staying for the rest of the season, then possibly half a season next year in the championship to build him up. It'll be a far more sensible option than disrupting his season, send him somewhere else that he might not get the same chances. He was 'one for the future', and I reckon they think very highly of him and will be very encouraged by his season so far. I think we need to make sure we dont throw him in the deep end and risk knocking his confidence

He won't be here next season to loan out, as it stands, he is out of contract. It doesn't look like there will be a new contract, for whatever reason.

No chance of Pulis selling Marshall to Sheffield Wednesday. He rates the boy highly, he was only sent out this year because he got the injury and needed plenty of pitch time. He wont be going out on loan again after this season.

I'm really perturbed by all this speculation. No smoke without fire. I wouldn't be surprised if we sold him. Surprised, but disappointed.

If he goes we should either close the academy or change the manager.
It makes no business sense having both.

Pulis doesn't care about the Academy anyway but we do need to know more about plans for Marshall. On a related note, Mark W seemed to suggest last week that Cuvelier wouldn't be here much longer.

You'd think with Pennant being in the doghouse we would need backup wide right. I like Shotton but don't think he will make that position his.
