Only got back from the game about 45 minutes ago ( bloomin' train broke down on the way home ) so I haven't had chance to discover why Jermaine Pennant wasn't in the squad today. Can anyone shed any light on it? Has he picked up an injury? I read a rumour on Facebook that he walked out of the Stoke team hotel last-night ??? I hope that's not the case!

I don't think you can read too much into it because Delap was also absent from the squad. However, I think I spotted Delap sitting with the squad in the dugout, I don't know if Pennant was also there.

I suspect something happened after his recent media comments. It certainly hasn't done any harm to team spirit on today's evidence.

In a pre eve of match tactical chat, Pulis asked the players to pin back their ears and he took exception...?????

Might well have done but who knows might be familiy issues ??? As said above it didn't affect the team today so probably nothing wrong Stoke wise

As you say though, the spirit of the team was certainly not in doubt today. I presumed that Tone was just giving Rory a rest after playing 90 minutes on Thursday. I guess Tone could've been giving Pennant a rest after his inclusion on Thursday too but I can't help but feel as if there's more too it than that.

was just thinking the same. I really hope this isnt the last we see of Pennant. Hes been one of our few creative players in recent years and it would be a massive shame to lose him in January.

He looked happy as aclam thursday night until substituted -thought that was to allow him to play some part today
even so - cant imagine there being a major fall out

Pennant left the team hotel Sat night to meet a bird. Pulis dropped him.
This was well known on Twitter earlier. A lot of people knew he wasn't playing.

I would just put it down to Away Tactics, resting key players. Pennant looked cream crackered at the end of Thursday's game, just like Delap, who must have a sore head.

Would be a massive shame but if he really does have this "spoiled little boy" attitude we'd be better off getting rid. We can't jeopardise the best team spirit in the Prem no matter how good he is.

Having seen the Charlies on his missus when 'accidentally' surfing the 900 channels I would also tell Pulis to get fucked and go and sleep on them rather than a cold hotel bed.

Pennant didn't play on Sunday for the same reason Matty didn't play on Thursday.

Pennant was in Pizza Hut on Festival Park signing autographs at about 4.00 on Saturday, not sure where he was on Sunday but it certainly wasn't Goodison ;D

Bring in Hoillet and say bye bye to Pennant.
He's played up at every club he's been at.

Can I just say that I don't know why he didn't play, unlike every other fucker, apparently.
On Saturday, I think, we were told with insider authority that Woodgate would not be playing due to falling out with 'Tony's pet' then he played the next day!
Why do people make this crap up? If you say 'I think' or 'I wonder if' then fair enough, but what a load of absolute crap gets posted.

He's playing up while he's the only choice out there, so how do you think he would react with being second choice? With 1 successful cross in every 5 attempts would he crave such a back up?

With 1 successful cross in every 5 attempts would he crave such a back up? He's definitely 'playing up' then is he? Spill the beans then. We need more options out wide so if we're selling Pennant we need to buy two wingers.
