On page 22 of today's Oatcake there's an article on refs shafting us. One of the games cited is the game refe'd by Barry Knight against Sheffield Utd.
Am I correct that this game wasn't the one where we started singing "bald headed bastard..."? Wasn't that at the Vic for bald ref with a 'tash (though also against Sheffield Utd)?

You're probably thinking of Kevin Lynch there, he's been retired since about 2000. From what I remember the Sheffield United game with him was back in 1994, we were losing in the first half then Gleghorn equalised towards the end

I remember a game at the Vic against Shef Utd and the ref was shite and he got hit by a packet of mints thrown from the Boothen End, Lee Sanford saw them picked them up and popped a mint in his gob

I reminded him of that night and he vividly remembered the stick he got from us Stokies. I did point out to him that he had been shit that night!

Kevin Lynch! I mentioned the match on a different thread but couldn't remember his name.
He spent half an hour giving EVERY decision against Stoke, not just a couple of stonewall penalties but things like crazy throw-ins when their players booted it into touch.
I saw one man with bulging veins and a bright red face running down the steps of the Boothen End, screaming at the top of his voice. I thought he was going to kill the ref.
Barry Knight, also a shocker, sent off Wayne Thomas after a dreadful dive from Jack Lester, I believe.
But for me the worst ever was Andy Hall against Coventry. Not so much for his crazy two red cards and countless yellow cards for our players, but for his decision to suddenly become lenient and NOT send off Richard Shaw for a blatant red card offence late on.
Special mentions also for Alan Wiley disallowing Ryan's goal, Peter Walton sending Ryan off because he thought it was the only way to calm Fabregas down, and Rob Styles at Gillingham.
